mrmichaelwright, just a thought making these kind of chanches to a ringmain in you house and either not getting it installed by or certified by a part P acredited electrician can invalidate your house insurance should you have an accident, do you really want to take that chance?

subject a male works hard and each year gets a pay rise based on his improved performance

subject b a female works equally hard but takes a couple of years off to have children but now wants the same performance related increases without having put the work in.

Is this fair?

In theory it sucks, in reality women in general take a career break for kids etc. So is it right that they stay on the same pay scale or should they fall behind a little in this period where the male continues?

If you know a tradesman howdens do a good one for decent money, but buy their own brand (its manufacured by meile under their own brand) as its actually a better machine than the branded one they sell, also to get a best bargain buy it in October as they run one sale a year which is their period 13 blow out.

OK, my understanding on this is

any price is called an "invite to buy", even if advertised a shop does not have to sell at this price, however once payment has been recieved the contract them becomes binding.
