It is actually possible to get better corrected vision from contact lenses than frop spectacles

    At junctions, or when overtaking
parked cars, get in the right position
early. For example, to turn right from
a major into a minor road, first look
behind and signal right. When it’s safe to
do so, cross the left carriageway to ride
just left of the centre-line of the road

yep there we go from bikability site……when its safe to do so……..taxi approaching from behind safe to do so?

Just 2 thoughts on the second one….

……why were you riding in the ‘middle’ of the lane on the bike, I would have issues with your consideration to others on this,

…..also when turning right, if there is traffic or the road is not clear, is a cyclist not supposed to pull in to the left hand kerb until it is clear and safe for you to make your manouver

in no 1 I would question you being in the ‘middle’ of the lane, but guy entering from left and not stopping is clearly a @osser regardless

my take on maternity law is that I employee can request to return as part time, and this must be allowed by the employer if feasable, however if the part time hours are unworkable they can refuse the part time hours, the actual ‘layout’ of hours is down to the discretion of both employer and employee based on what is able to work for both parties, so if the school needs the D/O to be wed then you are probably stuck with it, but they must ‘show’ that they have made all reasonable efforts to provide the cover staff onm the times you would prefer to be off.

sounds like dry eyes and probably in need of the new silicon hydrogel lenses as the moistur content is much greater

Blazing, when i worked there i worked at stafford, telford, shrewsbury and dudley, wife and i had our own business so gave up the stupid long manager hours and moved to Howdens which was at that time part of the same company, MFI retail was then sold and died its death, but i left howdens 3 years ago to concentrate full time on our own business (opticians).

Agree with blazing above, and used to be a manager for MFI, to clear up the mfi stuff above the designer/sales person was supposed to advise the customer that there could/would be extra’s to pay to the fitters, for some reason alot of the shop floor staff never used to do this which would just piss the customers fitters and me off clearing up the mess

Just spoke to one of our optoms, one of the major dificulties is children being able insert/remove their own lenses if that helps, if they can manage this OK then all should be fine, and as abiove that should be part of the assessment process

NO loyalty in the modern game ermmmmmmm…..giggs? scholes? neville?

OK, some opticians are a bit reticent to provide contact lenses for younger children due to compliance with wear (this applies for all types of lenses from over wearing monthly night and days by forgeting to change them to dirty hands on daily disposables and forgetting to remove them at bedtime) however there is no physical reason not to have them as your eyes are the same size at birth as they are at death and the vision from contacts can theoretically be better from contact lenses than glasses the best thing to do is tbh speak to your optician about a trial/assessment.

Surfer, want to bring FA cups into this too, how many?……

    thehustler

hmm bit of a strange one, as everything looks standard (hard to tell from a pictuse alone though, so its either a stronger prescription that will take some getting used to, or the PD is out, or the axis is off, any opticians will have machines that can check this, whoever some will charge you to let you know what is wrong

Oh and btw at your prescription thinnes leads would make a difference, one other thing, is the frame significantly bigger than your last pair?

    thehustler
    Free Member

Hmm could be as above, but could also be the lenses them selves, can I ask does the ‘front’ surface of the lens have quite a strong curve as well as the rear? Or is the frame more ‘wrapped’ to your face compared to your old frame?

    thehustler

To really answer this we need to know your prescrition, unless you are greater than a +/- 2.50 ultra thin lenses are not going to make a great deal of difference, if you can give details of your prescription I can give a better answer as to possible causes and solutions to the problem ( knowing your old prescription would be useful too)

my navara handles alot like a car, has very good pick up for overtaking and runs at about 36-37mpg average

tbh you need to look at the towing capabilities of all models as they are all diffeent, ‘modern’ 4×4 wanna be’s have gone down the smaller engine better fuel economy route, so tbh depends on the weight of your caravan as to whatn would suit, as it stands your question is in the ‘how long is a piece of string’ area

    thehustler

I drive one of the original navara aventura’s and its been great, to the point that its 5 years old now, and we looked at replacing it but couldn’t find anything that would be a real’upgrade’as most manufacturers have gone down the less power more fuel economy route now, having said that mine is a 2.5ltr turbo diesel with 6 speed manual box, and nissan either just have or are about to release a 3ltr v6 turbo diesel with 7 speed auto box which i might take a look at
