ask them fora copy of the risk asessment used to deny cycles if this is being used as an excuse, if they cant provide one then either go ahead with the biking or insist that they undertake the above mentioned assessment, peps use this tool to do whatever they want but must (and this is what they dont know if they try to fob you off with it) be able to provide evidence that an assessment has been written

the reason for “reasonable timescale” is because “reasonable” can vary between different products

    thehustler

tj change your glasses at no point have i said it is written in law, what i said was that the law states a “reasonable timescale” which by most areas of law regarding refunds is assumed to be 28 days although this has never been tested by litigation

there are many things assumed in law as you well know…in your own supposed field of expertise, ever heard of a contract by implication?

also are you saying your partner knows the law beter than the martin lewis people?

my expertise comes from having worked in retail as a manager and owner of companies for 25 years, and therefore needing to know these laws

    thehustler

also read my post the 28 days is assumed and as said not tested by litigation thats why you wont find it in law I SAID THIS IN MY ORIGINAL POST

there was actually a thead with links from martin lewis regarding this a couple of weeks ago, TJ obv doesn’t remember the timescale part of those links which i have told him about on previous occaisions, but he still ignoires

Ignore what TJ says as usual he only takes the part of retail law he wants to hear and spouts it, basically there is another very inportant proviso re return/ refund, in tha a refund is statutory if returned within a reasonable time scale (assumed to be 28 days in law but never acually tested by litigation). If its less than 28 days then yes he is entitled to a refund if he had no opportunnity to inspect the goods, if more than the 28 days then the shop has the right to repair or replace (also withing a reasonable tome scale, also assumed to be the same 28 days…..this can be varied though dependant on the type of product) if a repair or replacement isn’t available then a refund then becomes statutory.

Danish oil………but you really need to have applied b4 fitting as you need to seal both top and bottom, especially around water based appliances ( washer, dishwasher) ideally a barrier papaer should be put near these too, if you dont bother and think you can cut the corners you will soon have some lovely bendy boards….

Clubber no point challenging that retail law is from original date of purchase, not date of replacement, the only possible way around this is to prove that it was a fault at the time of manufacture, which then has a 6 year comeback

I fully sypathise with the OP, the last time I saw my MIL she told me to ” f word off and die”, this was caused by me pointing out to her that her benefits scrounging and cheating sister was doing just that when the MIL was trying to say she had had a hard life. Mind you she is a bit of a fruit loop too in the sane visit she wrote a letter to her other sister (the one who looks after their old mother and is quite normal, and who has also been more like a mom to my wife than her real mom)to tell her she isn’t allowed to see my wife anymore (wife is 40), she also went on to spout about how life had been hard for her living on the other side of the world (Canada)(and her choice to go there)

I now live knowing all MIL are fruit loops and to be avoided, on the bright side because of all of the above she is in the country atm but wont be coming anywhere near my house.

    Dont burn your bridges

Dont call your bosses/colleagues anything stupid

Do ask what the selection criteria was for choosing you (if more than just you do your job role) as just because you are the cheapest to lose isn’t a good enough reason

Do make sure you get at least the minimum you are entitled to as your package

Tesco are absolutely rutheless, they are currently trying to break into the opticians market, so what do they do
……….free sight test and glasses for £10……..running at a loss there then considering a sight test alone in wages and equiptment costs about £60.

………sell contact lenses at less than cost price of the manufactures……….

once they ‘break’ the independendants the prices will suddenly become more realistic/over expensive

thank god we dont have one round here yet…..

BTW they employ similar tactics with every market sector they enter

THIS is why i hate tesco

TJ got cut up by a car through no fault of his own we all agree on this, but TJ could have avoided being cut up if he had stayed in the left of either the left or right hand lanes, and made his manouver when the road was clear, granted he may have suffered some inconvenience possibly having to stop but its better than being squashed by the next taxi that might not see you, all for the sake of you own equal rights road owning ego

safe doesn’t only have to account for your own actions safe also needs to take into account the sometimes inconsistent actions of other road users…………………
