badnewz, the reason ‘online’ shops wont do complex prescriptions is that placement of lens in frame becomes more and more critical as prescription goes up (low prescriptions on datum (mid point between top and bottom of frame) with correct pd’s (distance between pupils)is normally fine, on higher prescriptions the vertical and horizontal setting of the lens needs to be accurate so needs to be measured properly with the frame in place on your face.

Its another example of the bucket shops hoovering up the ‘cheap and easy’ stuff but not wanting to know when there is any real work involved.

Having said the above frame choice can be an important part of getting the best finish for yourself, try to chose a frame that is not too deep in the vertical plane, and also one which is not too wide (pupil as near the center of the lens as possible is best as the more offset the thicker the edge of the lens will become. Plastic frames can be good for a large prescription like yours as again they can ‘disguise’ the thickness of the lens.

TBH it would depend on the house, with all it should be minimal, but some have earthing conductors making them safer etc

At next committee meeting put all the cards on the table (that you have proof of not what you have heard second hand or by inuendo), ask the committee how they believe things should be resolved as things obviously aren’t working as they are.

With other members of the committee involved invite him to a meeting to address what ever issues he may have, make a structure for the meeting giving both sides opportunity to state their issues. Once these have been raised agree a time for a second meeting so that each side can prepare correct reponses to each accusation/problem that has risen (make sure this structure is known by all concerned before starting).

If its as you say and he is in the wrong the committee should back you and either a strongly worded letter signed by all committee members warning of his future behaviour should be sent, or an outright ban could be imposed depending on the outcome of the meetings.

At each meeting make sure there are independant observers making notes/taking minutes that should be agreed on by both parties.

If the above doesn’t work get the bombers out and wee in his shoes……..

Sounds like the first two places in the OP’s comments were thinking a little outside the box (a little more specialist) lenses can come in different base curves (the curviture on the back side of the lens) oakley may stick to a 6 or 8 base curve but higher are available giving more flexibility with prescription.

I’d say go to one of the first two places and have a proper chat as to how they say they will glaze it.
