We climbed up the fire road from the Buzzards to the start of the black boundary trail, some trees down but passable. No trees at all on the black descent

I have a little Saltire then my name on the sticker. Have it on my Reign which I use for uplifts and my Trance,a gift from my daughters so when I am lying in a heap on the Cresta run everybody will know my name.

I had a similar problem and eventually traced it back to the brake cable outer going into the housing on the top tube. Some light grease every so often stoped the noise

I am 105kg and had a set of Mavic EX823 tubeless rims with Hope hubs with thicker spokes made up from Big Al at Wheelcraft. Been to the Alps and done 3 uplift days with them at Inners and they are still spot on

I used Strava all the time until I had a very sore off trying to beat my time on a stretch of singletrack, that reminded that that I should ride for fun

We mapped a trail round behind the David Livingston Centre that spits you out on the Blantyre Farm Road across into Red Lees Quarry then onto a great piece out singletrack behind Birnam Autos which spits you out at the Clyde.

It is steep and gnarly,a lot of people under estimate it because its a red but I found it full on. The trails you mentioned you ride will not prepare you for the red downhill but everything is rollable.
