3 weeks ago doing the third drop on the Matador just before the fire road at Inners landed heavy and somehow my handlebar end managed to get under my fullface helmet cutting open my chin. I needed wo inner stitches and six outer stitches.

I have a 53 plate Nissan Primera Diesel which has a huge dent in the roof where my tiles landed during storm last year and a big dent in the rear where my wife reversed into a metal bollard and let’s not forget about the rust on the doors. Two young police officers pulled me over to tell me my car had seen better days and proceeded to check all my tyres and lights which where all legal. Once they had finished I told them the bike on the roof(Giant Glory)which cost me £3000 and my Trance X1 which cost me £2000 and that I would love to own a newer car but I have to prioritize which is most important to me. They followed me for another 3 miles.

I have a 2010 X1 with 150mm floats and I use that as my everyday bike,Enduro events and hack bike. Run Mavic 823 rims on Hope hubs,2.35 Minioun on front and a Ardent 2.25 out back,SLX brakes,Joplin 4 post,9sp cassette with a Superstar 32 N/W chainring and it has never let me down,but I do have a Glory for my downhill days.

When my kids where that age we had to stop the car get out and move prams,scooters,go-karts and even football goals from the road before we could get up the driveways pita if you where in a hurry but the sound of kids playing and having fun made up for that.

The Red at Fort Bill is not easy it’s very gnarly and steep in places. A few guys in our club thought because they can do a trail centre red they could manage Fort Bill red they really struggled.

Do you think they can pick lines at that speed or just smash and jump through everything

Big All has built two sets of wheels for me using silver spokes and I’ve never had any issues with them

And a lot less climbing than last year

The Nevis DH red is completely different to the XC,a lot harder with lots of Northshore and steep gnarly sections. Being able to do the Witches trail does not set you up for the DH IMO

I am entering again this year

We leave Morzine tomorrow and it’s bone dry and scorching. All the bike park trails are dry with some big breaking bumps but the guys are constantly on the trails repairing them but keep away from the Pleny runs they have been ruined with the weather,just a mud slide with wheel swelling breaking bumps

Arrived yesterday and went up and done the Pleney. Avoid at all cost unless you like a mudfest having to pedal going downhill unless you like that. kind of thing

Have done it a few times. Just go up to the dam and walk across the top of it you might have to climb up onto the wall if the gates are closed but easy enough

14 July for 5 days in Morzine. Booked a 15 bed chalet with a hot tub and their is only 11 of us so plenty room to move about

At my heaviest I was 19.5 stone last year and had a Look Carbon road bike. No issues with it at all just sold it as I didnt like the road

My mate got his Canyon stolen from his garage in Cambuslang last year. It was spotted two days later being ridden by a ned round the Barras area,tried to talk to the boy but he took of like a rocket.
