The code looks like this:

**

Where * is the URL of the page you want to click through to (the photo page with the “all sizes” etc. buttons at the top)
and ** is the URL of the photo itself (from option 2 on the “all sizes” page)

Remove all spaces, send post!

You made it more complicated than you need to..

The “all sizes” page has some HTML code above the JPG link, I’d switch to medium or small size first. Just copy and paste that.

Mike, you know you can just post the html in here from flickr giving the image and click through?

Those ones with the red wheels are ten a penny in London. Usually ridden pretty badly or used as kind of walking accessory.

Oh I think it should. It usually applies.

Quite enjoy the old school photos. No real reason for it but it’s fun.

My girlfriend took this one with a Lomo Diana which I think is brilliant.

Wow prices have gone up a bit recently.

Going to save up for the D400 if and when it gets released.

Given you never take the camera off fully automatic, I can’t understand why you’d want to lug a big SLR around with you Simon, when frakly you’d get similarly dull results from a P&S.

Comments such as those on your opening post really are irksome.

You have a D300 but never take it off the P setting? Wowweee. What a waste of money. You’ve essentially let the camera designer choose how good your images look. You just happened to press the shutter.

I guess it’s also hard to find any real empathy or engage with some people on there who are obviously so filthy rich that it really doesn’t matter to them.

The people who struggle by and make it something truly special are the good ones.

Wasn’t keen on it at first but they created something really special for them I think as well as some decent materials. The “carbon neutral” tag is bullshit though. Won’t use any carbon when lived in but those tiles have a fair chunk of carbon embodied in them.

And yes, I am an Architect.

As for the cost involed with the eco measures. It may be generating £1800 now but that figure will surely rise. Energy isn’t going to get cheaper for quite some time now is it.

Most blacks will have chicken runs or easier options. Took a newbie round black sections at Afan and he loved it. Worth making your seat is a little lower if you’re not so confident just to get the weight a bit further back / make it easier to bail.

Whites level at Afan is good fun as is the W2 trail (wall and whites together).

A friend got one of the Dell Mini 9’s or whatever they’re called. Maxed out the RAM, put a faster SSD in there and got 10.5 running. Runs incredibly fast. Only problem is that it doesn’t sleep and kernel panics. Great machine though.

Using the flash off camera will open up more creative ideas too.

These were taken with two off camera flashes.

If you want to use them off camera then it doesn’t matter what you get so long as it has a PC sync terminal or you can adapt the hot shoe to take a PC sync though too. I got a 2nd Nikon SB-24 for that purpose.

Add your wireless trigger of choice and hey presto. eBay triggers are pretty good for the money.

Or you can try and freeze the action like this

You’ll need something like 1/500th or above ideally.

Also some groups for you explore. Bear in mind some of these will be using off camera flash but that’s a whole other story.

Try a bit of panning with the rider to get a blurry background and sharp rider. Autofocus does seem to get a bit confused on my older camera. I usually stick it on S priority at 1/60th or 1/90th and try and pan with the rider. See this shot and it’s properties. http://flickr.com/photos/ginja_andy/2896014123/meta/ Worth looking through Flickr at some shots you like and then looking at the settings.

Read what this guy has to say. http://sebrogers.typepad.com/ I have an article he did in a photography magazine recently I might be able to scan in for you.

simonfbarnes you really are a miserable twonk! The couple of threads I’ve seen you post you seem to be constantly negative towards other people. Give it a rest.

I got the Sigma 17-70 off eBay for around £200. Good lens for the price.

I’m surprised at that. I upgraded from the D70s to the D80, purely because the viewfinder was much better. The D70/D70s viewfinder is tiny!

Yeah the screen would make a massive difference but I can only afford to do one upgrade and I reckon it’s worth going for the D300.

Had a bad experience of stupid charges not being applied in accordance with their terms. Wrote to them and they sorted it out. Communication isn’t great. Left the account open with £10 in just in case but went back to HSBC.

Spent a long time reading about this and almost bought a D90 after Christmas replacing my (Mikes old) D70 but it wasn’t enough of an upgrade to justify it. I’m saving for a D300 mainly for the better FPS performance and weather sealing.

I also want a Nikkor 10.5mm lens but that will have to wait for the next year…

Apologies simonfbarnes. I forgot where I was for a second and was typing in a rush. pedantworld.com

Anyway, what I meant to say is nicely summed up by this chap from Nikon

The majority of lens systems have offered 50mm lenses as the most accessible way for new DSLR users to experiment with fast prime lenses (a legacy from 35mm film cameras on which they acted as ‘standard’ lenses). Yet Nikon has decided that its new offering should be a 50mm equivalent.

The Nikon 50mm 1.8 is great. Super sharp!

I bought mike’s D70 and love it. Next stop a D300 when I can afford it… I’ve already collected too much kit in 2008

As for a prime this has just been released which is the same focal length as the old 50mm on the smaller sensor on the D300 and below.
