I like The reviews that Hardtail party does because he actively compares what he’s reviewing to previous bikes he’s reviewed.

The Bontrager Rapid Drive rear hubs are 28h and have 54 teeth. You can add 3 more pawls to take them to 108t.

Great engagement but they will make your Hope Pro4 feel slow and agricultural. I also have an I9 Hydra but still feel good riding the fast Bontrager hub. I sold all my Hope hubbed wheels after getting used to fast engagement.

While you are protecting your chainstay I reccomend protecting the rear linkage as well.

I’ve followed what some Ibis owners reccomend and cut a neat flap of tape to divert small rocks from being chewed up in the linkage on my Ripmo AF.

I’ve destroyed 2 XT 12 speed rear mechs in the last 12 months. The clutches die pretty quick.

I hope they have sent one to Steve at Hardtail Party to review.

I would google the 35s before buying. There is a big thread on MTBR about how poor they are.

    Throwing in another variable.

I have found that a rear hub with superfast engagement, like an I9 Hydra, is a huge help on tech climbs. You can always adjust you cranks and have instant drive so you naturally get less strikes.

I have two Transfers but prefer the PNW Rainer V3 I put on my Ibis

I was having the same issue. My feet would slide in my shoes a little, which sometimes lead to a foot slipping off a pedal.

These socks have little rubberised squares on the inside and the outside of the soul. Your bare foot grips the sock, and the sock grips the inside of the shoe.

I also tried some cheaper versions of the same thing from amazon but the little rubber squares where only on the outside which didn’t work as well.

35mm inner width rim is the perfect size for 2.6 tires. Just go to the Maxxis website – they have a chart.

The Pace RC 627 is a great riding bike. The only weak point is the sliding dropouts are a bit delicate if you want to run single speed. They are fine if you stick with gears and don’t touch them.

I’ve ridden both my hardtails 29 and mullet. I like both.

My Middlechild Ti hardtail has a highish bb. I have ridden it with 27.5, 27.5+, mullet, and 29 (2.6) wheel – I prefer 29 overall but mullet is good fun too.

I haven’t tried my Ripmo AF in Mullet mode yet, it’s so much fun as it is :-)

I sold all my 27.5 forks about 2 years ago. 29er forks are only 10mm longer A to C. By dropping the travel 10mm you can fit them to any 27.5 bike with a 27.5 front wheel. Or just don’t drop the travel :-)

I snapped a 3 month old XT 12 speed chain at the weekend.

I managed to find a SLX one to replace it but I would like to try a non Shimano chain next.

Has anyone got a 12 speed KMC to work with Shimano XT 12 speed?

I live in Beaconsfield and there is plenty of fun riding from the doorstep if you know where to look. Theres even a small jump park.

Problem solved – I bought some RC Vice Mids which are super soft (I amanaged to squeeze into a 10)

    SLX ordered.

I just wondered if anynone else made one that is specifically compatible with the single way round nonsense that shimano have.

    The fit is great.

I tried on a few different RC shoes but I’m between the 10 and 10.5.

My freeriders got better and better as they softened up over time, and my trailcross mids did the same.

With new ones you can’t bend the sole by trying to grip with your toes.

I’m going to have at them with a hammer.

I just fitted the Rockshox fender to my Zeb. You are right OP it was fiddly in the extreme with the short bolts.

Here a m600 I built up for fun a while ago. It’s not as good as my Banshee Paradox V3 but it is fun occasionally.

I’m respraying a 1993 M2000 frame today. Just for fun.

What you have there is a 1996 killer v with the wishbone rear end and 1 1/8th headtube. These came with P Bone straight forks not the legendary Pepperoni.

    https://vintagecannondale.com/year/1996/1996.pdf

If you still have the P Bone fork I’ll happily buy it :-)
