Work for me too. They are quite firm though Especially in comparison to a Joystick Alloy bar which felt so flexy I had to stop using them.

Funnily enough my pace rc35s on my 1992 Orange Aliuminium O are stiffer feeling than the Sektors.

Actually they are really quiet a good fork and ride brilliantly. Now if pace did a new one with boost spacing andb 120mm travel I’d give it a try.

The new revs might be worth a go next year when they are reduced once the 2019 ones come out.

I’ve got Pikes on one bike at the moment which feel great. I fitted some Sektors on my sons bike and they were so much more flexy.

    @Garry_Lager – The 2.4 HR2s are on WTB asym i35mm rims.

    These:

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/ridewill-27-5-Wheels-I35-Boost-Shimano-Wheelset/dp/B01FKLVYSU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1510923286&sr=8-2&keywords=ridewill+27.5%2B+wheels

I sold the love mud wheels because they were too heavy. Shame because the hubs seemed nice.

I’m running 2.4 HR2s on mine and it is both nimble and fast. 2.8s only just fit in the back of a Transmitter, they only has 78mm clearance. I think the Transmiter is better suited to 2.4-2.6 tyres rather than 2.8s. I tried 2.8 NNs (72mm wide on love mud wheels) but they where very draggy so I went smaller, 2.6 tires weren’t available at the time so I went 2.4.

For reference I’m running a 2.8 HR2 on the back of my Solaris Max and it is brilliant.

Fox Doss bought 4+ years ago. Used constantly. Never serviced. Still like new. Bomb proof.

Now to try and find a second hand RC HLR.

Is it possible to drop these to 120mm with a new airshaft?

I’m not running the love mud wheels with the 2.4 tires. They were a little heavy.

I’m running my transmitter with 2.4 HR2s and its pretty fast like that. There is more tire clearance too. It’s tight with a 2.8 in the back.

Thanks for the replies. I’ve put my plus wheels back on. I think I jumped the gun with the 29ers a few weeks ago.

I’m running a 2.8 HR2 on the rear of my Solaris Max. It’s excellent as is the 2.8 DHF on the front. Both are really grippy.

I just got back from an evening ride and all I used was an alpkit Bosen light (£30) helmet mounted with a USE mount. Bright enough for nights up the woods.

I have a Solaris Max with 27.5+ and 29er wheels. I think the ride is brilliant and I love the grip when set up with plus wheels.

@core. I’m much happier on 800mm bars, I couldn’t go shorter now, I might go wider though :-). Also shorter bars would negate the extra reach of the stem –

    800mm bar + 50mm stem = 780mm bar + 60mm stem

The bike’s fit is excellent for me. I just tried a 60mm stem because I was trying my 29er wheelset after a summer on plus. I thought it might be more speedy through the mud :-). It was more speedy but a lot less grippy. But I guess everything is less grippy than a 2.8 DHF. Still great fun and it rocketed up the hills, I swear Cotic have hidden a motor inside it somewhere or Cy has been to Hogworts and put charm on it.

I have one of the new Solaris Maxs in large. I’m 6,2 and fits me brilliantly with a 50mm stem and 800mm bars. I tried a 60mm stem on it at the weekend to see what it was like and it felt too long for me so the 50mm is going back on.

What size rims are you running the HR2s on Lemures (or is it Casper) ?

I was running them on WTB Asym i35s which worked great. I now have DT Swiss 28mm internal rims on there and these are almost as good but the tires are about 60mm wide not 63mm.

The Transmitter only has a gap of 78.5mm so you can’t go too big. i tried 2.8 NNics (72mm wide) but they where quite close to the stays. Ok in the dry but rubbish in the mud. I think it’s best with 2.4-2.6s

I have a Sonder Transmitter and am running it with normal 2.4 maxxis high roller 2s. You don’t have to run plus on them.

You could use a higher rise stem to get the bars the height you want them instead of lots of spacers. Check out the Salsa and Ritchey websites.

I’ve got Nx on my bike. It came on a Sonder transmitter and I just moved it to my Solaris Max. It works perfectly and seems bombproof to me. You’d be mad to spend any more on gears. Save your cash for super grippy tires and loads of cake.

Also interested in anyones experience with the new Chameleon. I’m still undecided between this and a Solaris Max.

I’m loving the Solaris Max. How does it ride?

My transmitter now has 2.8″ minion DHFs and it’s now a fab bike, no complaints.

Marcgear, do the 2.8 DHFs fit in the rear OK? The frames clearance is only 77.1mm.

I tried 2.8 NNs on my transmitter and they were very close to the stays. They measured 72mm on the love mud wheels.

I switched to 2.4 high rollers and wtb 35mm rims to get more clearance. The 2.4 HRs measure 62mm width.

I was waiting for the 2.6 DHFs to become available because I thought the 2.8s would be too tight.

I took the bracket off mine and found it fits nicely into an exposure lights helmet mount. It’s very tight so should be good and safe, as long as it doesn’t short out and fry my head 8O

Sonder Transmitter will only take up to 2.8

The chain stay gap at the tire is 78mm wide so a 2.8NN at 72mm (on a 45mm rim) only just squeezes in.
