Was out in italy last year
    tdf came through sestriere
    beautifull place, epic road
    riding.
If you ever want to do one
of the best road climbs ever
    do the colle delle finestre,
    giro went over in 2005,tarmac
    runs out halfway.
    Fifty plus hairpin bends, trying
to nurse my litespeed siena up
the gravel part two hours in to
the climb, while the tiffosi rode
their duccati,s down it is what
    memories are made of 😀

Up on exmoor today blue skies
trails fast and dusty and the
tea room at horner was open for
    hot chcolate and cake!
The 60 mile road ride last sat
has fired the legs up, rode some
    brutal climbs today but enjoyed
    the descents 😀
May have to do the quantocks tmrw.

My mate has just built up a
    spin spitfire very pretty
    bike great value too.
    I gambled on american ebay
    and bagged a moots compact
    with edge forks and kking
    headset for £1200 it’s mint.
Did 60 miles on my old lite-
    speed sienna yesterday, so
    ti for road is good!

A pointer to the start of that trail
in the vid would be good! 😉
    Ridden hound tor lustliegh north

    There r many local bridleways
from the ogwell area out tward
    totness/ashburton some surpisingly
    good, especially in dry conditions.
    Also out toward rocombe/stokeinteign
-head quite gnarly in places, as always
an o/s map and a day exploring is best.
Bovey tracey is 10 mins away by car,
then you have lustliegh cleave etc from
    there.
    Tis great down yer!

Have an 08 purchased 2nd hand
    been a fab machine.
    Confidence inspiring, climbs
    really well syths through the
    singletrack and descends almost
    as well as my 5spot.
    Temporarily retired having been
    ridden through the last three
    winters, needs some tlc.
    The titanium “feel” means 6-7
    hours of exmoor, dartmoor or
    the q’s is a blast,it’s a class act.

Have been riding a litespeed sienna with
the carbon rear end for sportives and the
pilgrimage to the alps/ pyrenees for many
    years, a fab bike.
It is worth considering the likes of ebay
for the budjet you have, picked up a moots
compact from the states sh with edge forks
chris king headset for £1200 inc shipping:D
    first ride today!
So may have to part with the trusty sienna.
A friend has just bought a spin titanium a
very pretty bike too also worth a look.

Yep, great bit of cheeky trail
riding with normski last eve in
    deepest devon, snowdrops out
    already! global warming ideal! 🙂

What a great summing up barn
the fact you departed to the
    family at brighton does not
hide the fact that as a “newbie”
it appeared that you were just
    warming up!
    The general consensus being the
    boy has potential,on a personal
note the young lady on the horse
    was another highlight 😉

Reflecting back at home in devon after an
    epic day yesterday!
Thanks for the company guys, especially to
    singletrackmind for the powerlink rescue
and subway at finish! mivi for that gel
    horrible it was too.
Mr ibis for the cashews and climb pacing!
and big respect is indeed due to psychle
for hauling himself to the finish, and the
bright idea in the first place.
Seeing as everyone enjoyed it so much i can
see this turning into an annual pilgrimage
to pain, riding the last few miles with no
saddle was the icing on that carrot cake i
had been dreaming about for 50 miles.
Thanks again and well done to one and all.

Met you on the purbecks ride last
year and the surrey hills, mind you
don’t think it will be such a jolly.
Rode amberley to winchester last year
    including a few detours!
Looking forward to an epic day.

    What’s it for?
had mine from 04 with the romic
    shock, spain, alpes dartmoor the
    q’s and exmoor mainly.
Being sent back to turner to be
    refurbed,new bushes,decals,hesd
    badge,and repowdercoated in sparkle
    black!
How many bike companies provide that?
    What’s it for?
In my case many many happy trail days.
Ps recently tried a mojo hd and whyte
146 great bikes but hey think the carbon
    can wait a little longer.

    thegerminator

Having test rode an ibis hd
    and a whyte 146s recently i
    can only conclude that the
    5 spot deserves it’s place
in the mtb hall of fame.
So much so that my 04 spot
    is being stripped down and
sent back to turner to be
    resprayed!
Roll on them dry dusty trails.

Agree with hamishthecat it is aimed at the
family market, but ride it early eve and
you will have the place to yourelf.
It does help link up the cheeky trails,so
enjoy it ,yes not techie but hey that’s
what the cleave q’s and my personal fav
    exmoor is for!

slicks still give you the trail option but
are a real blast on the tarmac, go do it you
