    Also great value for a gels and bars mixed pack – £2 for 5 gels and 4 bars, I’d be on that if they had any near me, great value even it was for just the bars!

    There’s a sitewide 20% off code floating around for today only.. I can’t access the email from my phone to post the code..

    Code is SP-LYD-20, as I discovered to my expensive peril last night! As mentioned, 20% off everything.

    global, unfortunately it’s hard to legislate against people being selfish bastards…

    ian – more information is needed so don’t take this as gospel, but roughly speaking it depends on whether the house was bought as joint tenants or tenants in common. if joint tenants, they are entitled to an equal share. if tenants in common, the document explaining the ownership will have explained what the relative entitlements are between the two people involved.

    OP, where in Hertfordshire, out of interest?

    I find it hard to believe it was in one of the nicer parts of the county of opportunity, but could quite believe it if we’re talking Hitchin or Hemel Hempstead – they do tend to give the county a bad name.

    Interested in why people rate Seiko so much?

    I bought into a lot of the threads on here on Seiko quality, but after 2.5 years all the hands are out of line on my Seiko, and they want £91+postage to repair a watch that cost £125 and I can now buy for £95.

    That is the exact same experience I have had with the Seiko chronograph my Dad got me.

    Steinhart Ocean Black would be my suggestion (disclaimer, I have a Steinhart Ocean GMT which I love):

    Cheers all, good tips for next time – we ended up holding out and then getting a coffee and a cake at Cadence back at the top of Crystal Palace. Some good cafe tips for another time, though.

    On a side note… Brasted climb – 8O

    Weasel – cheers, this was pointed out to me last night, we have slightly rejigged to avoid overlapping so all good there. dants, we’re coming down from London, looping down just north of TW, then heading back round to London via Ide Hill and Brasted.

    I have a feeling we could be out of luck in terms of hitting anywhere that’s actually open – in fairness, I can see why people generally aren’t up and working as early as that on a Sunday! Maybe we’ll have to save the cafe stop for 3/4 rather than 1/2 way round!

    Looks a little pricier than I was hoping, but interesting. I will investigate further, thanks.

    Great stuff, I’ll investigate those thanks – not really looking for a competitor to Velo House, just somewhere that will be open for sustenance and a sit-down! Cheers.

    I know what you mean, and that is what I’m thinking too – the main reasons are that it’s not really properly supported anymore, at least as far as I know, so the iplayer app and catch-up parts of it don’t work anymore, plus the only way to get Spotify working on it is a work-around that every now and again stops working! It’s fine, and I really like the hardware, but I have been wondering if there’s something better and simpler I could switch to.

    Cougar, yes sorry, may not have been clear – you’re right that it makes no difference to the playing part. I’m talking about the speed and ease of scrolling through the library – on the squeezebox (including the phone app) you can whizz through the list either browsing or going straight to what you’re after.

    On a lot of simple interfaces (e.g. PS3, Revo Superconnect), although technically you can scroll through the list, in reality getting to C, D or even further literally takes minutes. It may be that everything available these days doesn’t have an issue with that, but for obvious reasons before I bought a system I want to be sure!

    Ta, but looks like not open at all on Sun. You know any others, perchance?

    Actually, while we’re on it and apologies for the slight thread hijack (though this may also be of use), what is the best option right now to replace our old Squeezebox Duet – it needs to essentially be a streaming box that will connect to the AV receiver so as to:

    a) play our full music library from the NAS drive (a good, fast interface is crucial on this bit as we have a lot of music);
    b) stream from Spotify;
    c) do regular iplayer type stuff, i.e. play live radio and catch-up shows;
    d) er… that’s it.

    There’s so much on the market right now it’s impossible to tell what will do the above easily and conveniently, at high quality and with a good interface.

    when I did the Dragon ride I raised quite a bit, but was comfortable asking as I wasn’t sure I’d actually get round!
    I wouldn’t do it for charity.

    and also if you’re just going for a decent time, rather than trying to get round at all – when I did the Dragon ride I raised quite a bit, but was comfortable asking as I wasn’t sure I’d actually get round!

    enbern – there are loads on here: http://www.ukcyclingevents.co.uk/, they won’t be the same scale or prestige/closed roads as the Ride London, but plenty to choose from.

    I loved the Ride London last year, didn’t enter this year as fancied something different, going for a couple as linked on the page above.

    I am so tempted by that frameset at Evans – if it had proper guard mounts I’d get one and make it my winter bike… such a good price! :x

    Further update on this – I emailed Planet X yesterday to ask about the removability of cores in their lightweight tubes (currently 99p) – they got in too late to beat Wiggle to the business, but I have a hot off the press reply confirming that they also have a fixed core, so buy with confidence Lezyne pump users! :lol:

    theflatboy

    Haha, it’s a fair point… annoying as it is, though, the pump’s pretty good!

    theflatboy

    Wiggles just arrived, confirmed fixed core – good tip and for less than £8 for 5 can’t go wrong really!

    if anyone cares, random sample was 101g!

    that is an exceptionally good shout – why weren’t you there on my ride yesterday! :lol:

    wilburt, cheers – good tip now ordered.

    lerk – it has a bleed button on the hose but that wasn’t helping, I wasn’t even doing the hose thread up that tight, but the core was too loose and nothing I had on me (with chilly hands as well!) would get the core any tighter :x

    theflatboy

    and fixed core? They’re actually less than £8 for five at the mo, looks ideal!
