I’d always wondered about that in the case of people like Dwayne Chambers – so you dope for a while and train up to a level that you would never otherwise have reached; logically it seems likely that you could permanently or at least longterm affect the body’s ability and process of dealing with and responding to training…

Onza – how long ago did you get them, can’t you just get the shop to replace?

I’m in London – I could feasibly make it to Bristol for which there still seem to be tickets, but in fairness my wife’s expecting our second baby mid-March so it may be a bit of a stretch!

    Wowsers, on it. Good PSA!

    Edit – oh 🙁

To be honest, if you’re only there for a few nights there are a few things worth checking out, e.g. the Souk and the Corniche promenade area. It’s not all awful, but there’s very little of interest worth checking out… at least you’ll go when it’s not too hot to go outside!

edit – sorry, I’m assuming you’re going to Doha!

I saw that this morning – looks pretty solid compare to what you can get new or used for that money…

I worked there for a month a couple of years ago. I’d be more concerned about how crap it is.

If I really had to choose based on looks alone I’d still go for the second option, personally.

    And beware of…. CARD CLASH

Exactly – every time I see one of those signs it amuses me that that’s now a “thing”… another stress of modern life!

In my experience, every time I’ve bought a frame with a view to taking that long to build in it I’ve cracked a couple weeks in and just ordered the entire buildkit in one go, at all costs… 😆

I would buy the PS4, so he can bask in the intoxicating (though admittedly lonely) glow of knowing that he’s right and they are wrong.

next year? just go do it

also, set your garmin to a screen with no distance, elapsed time, or time of day on

Very good advice – the best move I made when training for the Wiggle Dragon, which was by far the furthest ride I’d done, was to put my watch / GPS on a screen where I wasn’t constantly evaluating how far I had left!

Where are you guys riding – London it was coldish but I was still fine in shorts and short sleeve top… must be a lot colder elsewhere!

On that basis, I’ve just checked a bit more closely and it seems my quick google yesterday was misleading and you won’t get SlimKat on that phone, or Cyanogenmod as far as I can see. There may be other custom ROMs that would improve it, but it may be more risky and fruitless than it’s probably worth.

    1. Root your existing phone and put SlimKat on it – a quick search suggests it’s available for that phone (though I could be mistaken…). This is very easy, and will transform your existing phone.

    2. GSMArena.

I’d have thought you’d get a KlickFix handlebar bracket on a Mary bar which would give you plenty of options, provided that they cleared the curves of the bar – you can also get an extender for that bracket which would take the bag out past the curves.

In fact thinking about it more I got my model numbers mixed up – I got the 10 speed ones not 5800s…

Guess you may well be The Flat Boy if you try that.

Be careful … it’s one thing running along a quiet back street, somewhat different trying to average 20mph in a built up area.

    But then you know that

I do, I know all those roads pretty well, though not well enough to remember that the Vic line terminates at Brixton not Vauxhall. 😳

Which would make it 37 mins by tube / 12 miles by bike… well doable!

It’s the same with 5800 levers or at least if the screws are an option the rubber inserts are too. I have seem spare having just recently got a set of levers and don’t need them. You can have them if you want…

This has got me thinking – Victoria Line Walthamstow Central to Vauxhall is roughly half an hour. On road, i.e. bike, distance I make it just under 10 miles…

Couple of things to add – I got one from the Kickstarter batch and got the long bracket. Since then, I got the short bracket so as to keep things more tucked in. I do slightly catch the back of my legs on it while pedalling, but only slightly so I tend to put up with it. The short bracket doesn’t have the metal band attachment either. I leave the short bracket on my winter road bike so when I fancy a long ride in to work I can easily just go for that bike.

I also use a Klickfix handlebar mount, and use the bag on that. It is fairly bulky as a handlebar bag, but works fine. I use that when I have the childseat on the back of my commuter, so can’t use my panniers.

I do put my shirt in it – I take trousers, shirt, underwear and lunch in it regularly, which fills it up but is fine in practice.

I’m glad I’ve read this thread. My wife has her 12 week scan tomorrow afternoon. I’m trying to contain my excitement about the whole prospect at this stage but I am overjoyed at the prospect of our first.

    New chapter in life.

Good luck with the scan, it’s pretty amazing in itself. 🙂

And the bit about 12 months of hell isn’t true either, just be prepared to work stuff out rather than listening to other people’s “advice” about what you should be doing (I am aware of the irony of that “advice” 🙂 ). We have a two year old, next one’s due in March… 🙂

Though in addition to the last bit of the post above, any wording like that also either states or has implied by law “your statutory rights are not affected”…

There’s a junction a bit like that on the A1000 not far from me, I imagine others on here will know it. Left lane is turn left, right lane is straight on.

If you stay in the correct lane and avoid the situation where you get stranded on the left and effectively have to cut across a lane of traffic to go straight on, you are riding for a while in the middle of the road. I don’t think I have ever managed to stick to the correct lane on that stretch without getting abuse for doing so from drivers. Being a cyclist can be trying at times. 🙁

I was thinking an electric carving knife and a bottle of vodka might do the trick.

It might not do much to the skin tag, but video it all the same on the off-chance something else interesting happens…

*Warning – possible gross post content*

In the past, I have just picked and removed by brute force skin tags with my bare nails / hands… Slight discomfort, but I survived.

Considering it’s a 14 year old, quite likely stupidity rather than malice but either way very sad outcome.

£0.5m donated so far, quite an incredible amount.

I agree, toj – “somebody” is on one side of the door, you fire a gun through the door. You must be intending to seriously harm if not kill the person on the other side of the door, IMO.

Little Nipper loaded with peanut butter +2 – took less than one hour from putting it out to catching the little blighter when we had one the other week, approximately one week faster than the “humane” alternative that had been out!
