got my lovely new hubs today – they’ve still got some left, i’d recommend to others to get a set, when i built my bike recently i picked up a pair of xt skewers for £20, for a tenner more you get the whole hubset!

going to get them built up into a full black wheelset of black hubs, black disc xc717 rims and black spokes for the scandal to get rid of the horrible silver braking surface on the non-disc specific rims on it at the mo. marvellous.

bigD, you basically take a load of identically framed shots with different exposure settings to capture different levels of detail where normally you’d sacrifice detail on one thing to get the light right on something else. the shots are then all combined digitally on photoshop or similar.

oh yeah i know – shame! sounds like i might have passed you on the way up the hill, or on slightly different tracks. what a top day, we were out for about 6 hours up and down the various tracks, fantastic. presume you had a good one, how could you not in weather like that!

very bad luck – this forum needs a permanently stickied bristol bike theft thread into which people can add their own for reference.

yep, that’s what it means – they might have got confused when they listed it and meant to say offers in excess of, but you’re right about it being a ballpark figure.

so if i, on behalf of the generous-sounding s&j, called thule and asked them, they’d hook me up and i could then pass them on to s&j afterwards? if so, that would be fantastic…

    that is proper shit.

i’ve got to say, though, i wouldn’t leave any of my bikes anywhere i couldn’t see them without something locking them to something else, preferably locked inside something… presumably you won’t even get insurance claim for that?

depends on what the background looks like, but if it’s fairly plain and you’ve got a fair bit of similar colour/pattern around then select area around the stick with either lasso or rectangular marque tool or similar. then select “patch tool”, drag the stick area away and it will replace it with whatever sample area you move it to.

sort of hard to explain, but experiment with the patch tool and you’ll work it out.

other than that, you can use the healing brush – press alt and click to set the sample area, then draw over the stick. again, experiment and you’ll see.

if you want to just put it on here i’ll do it for you!

i’m not supposed to be buying stuff this month, but it’s silly not to with some of those prices for stuff i know i’ll need soon anyway (that’s what i’m practising saying for when i get home)
