penshurst might be an option – i haven’t been there for about 10 years but looks like they’re still going. used to be excellent so probably worth checking out.

edit – just seen you mentioned it in your original post!

isn’t having a ‘riding’ sign above your bum a bit ‘Ghey’

hehe, yeah there is obviously the possibility for that interpretation but never mind

take the harddrive out and either drill a hole through it or chop it up somehow prior to disposing of that separately. any drive formatted and reinstalled can still have data taken off it if someone is so inclined. donate whatever else you want but not the drive.

i reckon a 3 wheeler would be more suited to touring than going quick

yeah probably, i only got a quick blast so set mode to “showing off” and was blasting it about and doing stoppies, etc.

    fun stuff!

I threw away all my bikes as I realised each one had an advert for it somewhere…..
I hate to be on any bandwagon, so now just sit there feeling proud but glum every time i try to go riding…..

    well said

i’ve had a go on a few, they’re quite entertaining but none persuaded me to reject the traditional bike layout. one of these:

was more fun than any of the two wheel recumbents, particularly when cornering on two wheels  but so low that i wouldn’t go anywhere near any traffic on one.

the answer to every wheel question for any use is either xt hubs with 717 or 719 rims, or chris king hubs with the same rims, depending on how flush you are.

practice. and more bodyweight usage. do a sort of backswing one way prior to the endo, then swing into it as you go onto the front wheel.

It sounds like a shit situation. If you are helping her look for a new job I suggest getting someone else to write the CV.

well that’s pretty **** annoying – got the hubs i ordered no probs, got an email today saying “sorry you can’t have the cassettes and chains, we’ve run out”.

i realise they probably had hundreds of orders to sort out, but when i ordered them they were listed on the site as having “lots”, so they obviously lost my order in the system. rubbish.

i had to get my arm stitched up about 2 days before i went on holiday with my friends a few years back. consequently i could not attend their suggested stitch-removal appointment. i explained this to them, and they generously provided me with a scalpel for cutting the stitches and a set of tweezers to remove them, and then explained the procedure. it all went well, had to wiggle a couple to loosen them but generally successful result.

If you do take a satnav – at least set it up right

it’s setup as spefically as it can be in terms of which roads and routes it selects, sadly! i double checked when i got there and tried changing it to the alternative and it tried to take me the same way in reverse on the way back!

anyway, the lesson learnt is always have a map as backup just in case…

you’ve got to put the emails on here, after all that!

i’ve got 185s on front and rear and they are quite simply awesome in their one-fingered, anchor-like stopping power. great stuff. :)

    (and i weigh 12.5 stone…)

if you’re using satnav, take at least a europe road atlas as well – when i took my girlfriend from la plagne to geneva airport over xmas the satnav tried to take us a virtually crow flies route straight over the top of the mountains and down the other side, rather than on the motorways. if we’d gone that way we’d probably still be stranded there now!

i would have thought that you’d be able to get a refund if what is sent is different to what is pictured if you had to open it to realise.

i think i’ll select option #1. though i’m not sure when. i’ll let you know. just for my info, is there an expiry date by which the prize has to be claimed?

mr richards, who stocks those ibex garbs in the uk?

some of the tops on that site are very pleasant in an understated sort of way, a bit like myself.

could you perhap point me in the direction of where one might procure some?
