    Good knowledge, thanks. I have seen a fair few droppings in the crawlspace, and a few possible entry points from the outside in, and also from the crawlspace up into the kitchen. Where would be the best locations to put the traps if it’s not clear what routes they’re taking to get around? Thanks for your input. :)

    ok, ta – we’ll go smaller then…

    5mm wire mesh – looks pretty small, they’d have to be some mini-mice to get through it. They have it in sheets at the DIY place near my work, so there’ll be some DIY covers being made as per first reply to OP. :)

    Ok, I have in my possession traps, wire wool and foam sealant. Arriving tomorrow are the air brick covers, and I’ll try to get some mesh for the bigger ones as well.

    So are we thinking best plan of attack is:

    1. block up kitchen entry points with sealant / wire wool;
    2. lay traps all over crawl space for tonight;
    3. block up non-air brick external access points;
    4. leave it a few days with traps out and checked before doing final covering of air bricks outside?

    I figure that way it starts sealing up, while giving us a good chance of catching them in the meantime, and then once we’re reasonably happy we’ve got the lot, seal up the rest of the external points… Sounds sensible!

    Cheers for advice, very helpful!

    Well we’re mostly ready for the build, aside from a few bits which will hopefully arrive before the weekend! I’ll put a couple of pics up for you in due course:

    Well we’re definitely going to be putting as many traps down as we can, but I want to fully seal the perimeter as well to stop any replacements appearing! We had one a little while back which we got rid of, the repeat occurrence has spurred me into preventative action…

    Good point… I will investigate.

    Three holes, being pedantic.

    Looks like one hole to me, even if they did take 3 goes to make it!

    I got an Xperia Z1 Compact when they were on a very good Amazon Warehouse price, and rooted it with SlimKat. Very happy with it, super fast, battery’s awesome and it’s a good size. Recommended if you can get one at a good price.

    Went for local Evans in the end, hope they don’t let me down 8O – £81 including fitting, not too bad!

    That’s my thinking, though not sure if it will be stainless or ceramic. The only thing is, the economics of getting the tool are pretty solid but as this will be my only frame with pressfit, it may only ever get used once or twice!

    Ok, so Bowman Palace on the way – getting it next week. :)

    Anyone recommend a decent PF41 press fit BB? Thinking Hope, but I don’t have the fitting tool and my LBSs aren’t being that useful in pricing up supply and fitting…

    Get a graded new one – we saved a load on a very good Bosch recently just because it had a couple of scratches on the side where we’ll never see them anyway. There are a few places doing graded if you search around a bit.

    Some of those do look very nice, particularly some of the weights they are achieving! I am set on the Bowman, I think – I’m going to swing by Cycle Lab to check one out… :D

    Barriers aside, it’s not as close as I was assuming having read the story about it… However, agreed that it’s pathetic they’re just letting them off the hook…

    I like how the guy filming made sure his bike was safely propped up against the flower beds before going back for his mate who was lying in the middle of a 3 lane motorway, unable to walk

    My thought as well – he’d already stacked it, but gingerly props it up then goes back for his buddy :lol: :roll:

    Yep, CAAD different though. I’m also not keen on the weight limit with the Aithein, although hopefully I shouldn’t be troubling it!

    Oooh, this thread has taken off since I last checked in – have to say I’m leaning most towards the Bowman, though all the options mentioned look pretty comparable. I marginally prefer the look of the Bowman + bottom bracket standard + having something a little more unusual, at least for now…

    See I’d say on looks alone the Bowman wins, but I realise this is subjective…

    The first thing that jumps out to me is the QR – any good reason not to get some rock solid bolts on there instead of running a QR? It’s got to be worth a go – I have never had that issue on a similar setup with bolts and no chaintugs at all.

    Between now and then on each weekend do a 50 mile ride on the Saturday, a 50 mile ride on the Sunday and on each Wednesday between now and then do a 35 mile ride. It will be a piece of piss.

    I read the thread title and was about to empathise with this thread… :lol:

    It still gives me nightmares, I don’t think I’ve ever come so close to throwing a bike through a window!

    There’s some pretty good stuff in there – remains to be seen if it goes for a bargain price or gets pushed up but if I was nearer I’d definitely pop a few bids in…

    I’ve used Parcel2Go for a few different bike parts, no problems and worked out at a good price, even sending a frame to France. Give that a go…

    Thanks, I may try to pick up some coach screws and plugs instead then. Sorry for being dim, but when you say you use the 8×60 plugs, what size screws and you are talking about to go with them? No such thing as a stupid question, right? :)
