The shopping centre at Stratford is my preferred choice 15 mins off the bottom of the M11 an all day 24 hr parking for a tenner last time I used it. Good transport links into the city too as its built next to the station.

Get well soon Mr Barnes. I’m still in shock at the news, Simons photos and his maps inspired me to ride in the Lake District (I’d started riding relatively late in life) and after a few years of great weekends in the lakes i’m his debt. Healing wishes

Drive through sheildaig and up to Kenmore on the coast road north. Ride the path to applecross and then the coastal path to sand. This ride lacks some of the ultimate thrills of the big loop but it really is a great day out with some great trails and views over Skye. Chips at the apple cross inn are fab for lunch too. much nicer than the Ben damph loop imo

They will fit but you’ll need some adaptors or a bb30 to hollow tech bottom bracket. I’ve got a push fit 30 bb with wheels manufacturing adaptor cups. Buy carefully though its a minefield out there!

When we go up to Torridon which is a 9 hr drive for us, i’m sure its overkill but between the group of us we take just about everything to build another bike, seat clamp, spare seat post (incase/when the crank bros dropper post fails)and saddle, wheels, spokes, cassette, assortd bearings, tyres, mechs, shifters, cables, spare brakes, assorted bolts skewers stem, etc etc. oly things we’ve missed tends to be fork, rear shock and a frame. Thankfully we’ve never needed too much apart from the usual pads tyres and tubes. Just make sure you’ve checked your bikes and there is nothing underlying on the way out, wheel bearings bottom brackets etc.

I ride pines during the week as its local, and this is how I find them… Cannock is a bit like Pines but more gradient and a bit more techy but more fun. Llandegla is lots of fun, quite short not serious Xc or dh but lots if smiles apart from the drag to the top and the last bit back to the car park- very good cafe tho! My fave if the ones I’ve ridden is coed y brenin, namely the red or the beast (similar red trail just longer) I like the fast sweeping nature of some sections, most of the climbs are on forest roads tho which can be a bit dull, but does gave a fairly natural feel to the singletrack. The trails also hold up really well in the wet and dont become a mudbath. Nice cafe halfway round too.

If you’re looking for a loop of Coniston then you could do worse than riding into Grizedale, doing the first bit of the north face trail then peel off to do a lovely natural decent off Parkamoor then around the bottom of the lake to Blawith before heading on some boggy singletrack over Blawith fell to Torver, then up past Scarr Head to take in the end of Walna Scar road into Coniston, turn up left past the black bull and head up the road take the bw on the right as the road runs out follow the gravel path thro the woods to high yewdale then road to tilberthwaite, have an explore of the tracks round hodge close before heading up over high oxen fell towards knipe fold then back into Grizedale.

I’ve seen a car and van broken into on the Eakring road in the last few weeks so I’d avoid parking there if I were you.

I’ve got the pioneer, basically so it matched my bluray player! it sounds a little bright compared to my old marantz, but I’ve got used to it and tweaked the sub and treble a bit, the extra detail from the bluray via hdmi, setting the sound levels was very easy utilising the iPhone app and the sound is very balanced now. Overall very happy with the power and features and I don’t even notice the bright rather than warm sound now and would have no worries recommending one. Mine is driving B&W VM1’s coupled with a Rel sub.

Have a look at Kinetic, it’s about the most battery friendly one I’ve tried

I can’t remember which one i went for, but got the specs off the spesh website, don’t forget as well as 2×10 and 3×10 they come in different sizes to suit what ring sizes you run as well. So choose carefully

If you want to risk voiding the lifetime frame warranty you can do them yourself. You can use a combination of sockets threaded bar and g clamp to ease most of them out, the rear pivots on my older stumpy are blind which makes them trickier you can make a tool – there are some good videos on u tube relating to this.
My old 2007 stumpjumper had new bearings annually which cost me £60 fitted at my local specialised shop, when it developed a crack last year I was offered a brand new stumpjumper evo frame as a replacement, so I’m glad I didn’t do my own and risk question marks over the warranty.

I’ve not ridden the mavics but I have two sets of flows and rate them highly, they have stayed true despite my best efforts and I like the extra width that gives the tyre a slightly square profile compared to my old dt rims. And tubeless is very easy too.

For me the biggest difference isnt picture but sound quality, the difference is quite amazing

I got one as a warranty replacement for my old 07 stumpjumper. It feels a lot more bike than my old one, very low bb and feels much slacker, gives me more confidence on the downs. Sucks up drop offs and rocky trails and still pedals like a trail bike-I’ve been surprised how well it climbs too. Only issues are the questionable life of the bb30, but what’s new!

The rides are pretty easy to follow, we just took a few home made screenshot style maps, the trails are pretty well defined. The route over to applecross is a great day out and it’s worth doing the path over to sand, do this ride on the day you have the best weather forecast. Finding the start of the path at Kenmore is the trickiest bit. My fave ride is the coulin-annat ride from Torridon, it’s easy to follow and offers some great riding, sure you’ll love it. I’ve got a map I can email you if u need it?

Not too worried about phone chargers tbh, but It’s a good job the bike industry doesn’t have lots of standards
(rolls eyes)! A new frame has just cost me a small fortune in replacing non compatible parts

Its a minefield no doubt, my evo is a warranty replacement and i had to source everything. I got an SRAM pf30 bottom bracket from high on bikes off eBay last week he had plenty of stock and arrived next day, I was using stand cranks so needed some wheels manufacturing adapters- ordered those from swinnerton cycles on line and they came within a few days.

Try the campsite at kipford, (Kipford holiday park) it’s mostly statics but has some nice individual pitches for tents-giving you your own space, showers are old but clean, pubs down in kipford are a 15 minute walk through the woods. Dalbeattie is just over the road, kirroughtree is just over half an hour away, mabie is about 20 mins. I’ve stayed a few times with some biking friends and found it perfect.

Thank you for thinking of putting the v8 in the Ac and going on to create a legend in the 427 cobra

Kirroughtree isn’t your typical trail centre and is worth the trip IMO, you could investigate some of the Southern Upland Way which runs a few miles north of Castle Douglas

Its the chainrings at fault, it only feels ok early on in the ride because the chain is well lubed it compensates for the worn rings

I had same issue as Count zero, with my ppc when I got a new iPhone, no intel chip meant couldn’t buy the latest os old software online wasn’t available-so I called apple support and they sent me os10:5:6 free of charge, it came in about two days, needless to say I was delighted! I have always had great service from the apple store too, So it’s got to be worth calling them

A friend of mine has just replaced a single noir crank, it suffered from the same issue-I think he ordered it through his lbs- but it cost a hefty £90!
