I know your pain. When I moved in my current house ten years ago, my garden was the neighbourhood cat toilet. One of the close neighbours has around 15 cats, apparently they all have different personalities, he is a bit of a mentalist. I laid a new lawn, went on holiday for a fortnight, came home to a lawn covered in shit. It had burnt holes in the turf. I wanted to kill them all, but there were simply too many.
I tried many things, my own piss, pepper, bleach, jeyes fluid, water bottles, mirrors, throwing bricks at the bastards (put a hole through the fence). Nothing had any effect.
Then I errected a big shed in the garden and it stopped overnight. They all started shitting next door. And the poor neighbour could regularly be heard screaming, ‘facking cat shit!!!!’ So my advice, throw bricks at them so they know you mean business, then errect a big shed. Its what worked for me. Good luck.

cool, I do like the look of them. It sounds like a pretty clear warranty case, good luck with it. I hope you have more luck with the next one.
The load path doesn’t look great at the failure point. It looks like it goes from tube directly into the motor. If the tube is flexy and the motor stiff (relative to each other) it might be causing a big stress concentration. It doesn’t look like it has any gussets to try and feed the stress back away from the weld.
Maybe you were too hardcore, did you take it off any sweet jumps? 😉

water, sometimes water with fresh lemon juice and rock salt or if its a really long ride coconut water is good.

I found it very frustrating initially, but now I have no problems. Its still a pain ion the ass is you want to quickly chANGE TYRES for the conditions, so i generally don’t do that anymore. No regrets, You still carry a tube just in case, I also carry a tyre boot and the worm things

the main mechanism for fat storage
-blood sugar goes high
-body releases insulin
-stores as fat

If you want to lose weight quickly then follow a diabetics diet, eat as much as you like, you will still lose weight.

When you eat non processed fat the body doesn’t need to store it and it doesn’t. You don’t gain weight.

Eat when you feel you need to but eat far less carbs.
Google ‘what if its been a big fat lie?’

My 2007 Trek came tubeless ready, but this was not true. I had to buy rim strips, so it wasn’t ready at all. Almost ready, but not ready.
Rubbish! Why would the seat tube need to be stiff on a FS bike!??!?!?
To stop the seat wobbling of course!

The swingarm of the rocket is alu.. where the stiffness is needed and theres all the shock pivots to house.

no, the stiffness is needed in the seat tube, which is steel, and thats the main advantage of the design to my mind.

OK.. f the planet and decent wages and taxes give me the cheapest you have got from Taiwan.

I just googled, most of the worlds aluminium tube is made in China, not Halifax. Shame, I thought you really were saving the planet for a moment there.

google ‘esure insurance review’, I did, hence going with NFU

NFU state that as long as the bike is in a locked building or locked to an immovable object, then its insured. I can keep it in the shed with a ground anchor. Maybe you would need to lock the bikes to the bike box, I guiess you’d have to ask.

Ive gone with NFU. not the cheapest but they provide good cover I’m told.

It has several bumps and imperfections caused by riders applying their brakes. I suggest you think long and hard about whether you can cope with this.

Personally I think its in pretty good shape and I really enjoyed my ride their last week.

the most annoying thing I find with presta, is that tubeless they get gunked up with goo, then when you try to unscrew the valve cap, you take the whole core out. that is proper annoying. I might consider the schraeder tubeless valves. Has anyone used them?

its true, lots of people talk to you when you have a rocket, so far they have all been nice people, so I like it.

I believe the rocket has been designed by a very talented engineer. Thats why I bought one. The 5 doesn’t have that appeal for me. Neither 5 or rocket are cheap, tbh, if I’d seen On One doing an El Guapo with ccdb and lyrik for 2k I would have gone for that. As much as I love the Rocket, my build cost twice that (don’t tell the wife).

I went first time on Monday. It pissed it down, I didn’t want to get out of the car but it was brilliant. I’ll definitely go again. Its quite a natural trail, some excitement but the best thing is the beauty and the isolation. Its got a real wild feel.

Super Tacky 2.35 Minions F&R for me. I never ride for longer than about 3 hrs, so the drag doesn’t bother me. I find them very grippy and predictable.

I asked this question a few weeks back. I checked out the Which website and NFU had good customer satisfaction and the price isn’t too steep. You can get cheaper, e.g. esure, but I searched esure reviews and it really out me off. No point having insurance if they dick you about when you need to claim.

I got NFU home insurance with £5000 of bikes with away from home cover for £430. My home insurance is about £300 anyway, so it seemed reasonable.

When you empty the air, your should see the fork compress down on its own.

If its brand new then the new seals might be stopping it from sucking down. That’s what i found. Try lubing the seals and then letting the air out.

It doesn’t have a model name. A mate gave it to me. He bought it second hand of Ebay and it didn’t fit him. Its brilliant. Super water proof, really light but great vents. I expected my top to be wet from sweat, but it was totally dry. I reckon any waterproof with vents will do the same job.

I rode penmachno yesterday in the rain. It rained all the way around. I wore a lightweight waterproof with pit vents (Jack wolfskin). I was surprised to find that my cycle top was as dry as a bone when I took the jacket off back at the car. Another good thing, is that it is quite long and elasticated at the back to cover your arse so spray from the back wheel is less of an issue. It has 3 external pockets at the back for tools, drink food etc. I think its great.

I think I’ll try another sram shifter and hope I get lucky this time, mainly because I don’t want the hassle of selling my rear mech.

I don’t know if the X0 is any better than the X9. At the moment I’m thinking of trying the X0, just hope I’m not paying £30 extra (over the X9) for nothing.

Thats interesting Mbnut, I’ll check out the Casco Viper.
My Met Parachute experience, I really messed up a jump and fell from about 3m face first. I put my arm out to soften the landing and broke my arm. My face was fine though, the chin guard dislocated and bent rather than shattered. I don’t see how you could make it shatter. My chin guard is till bent off centreline. I ended up with a mouth full of soil but no facial damage. So perhaps unsurprisingly I am a fan of the chin guard. I have to agree that they make you look like a dicksplash (espoecially when the chinguard is bent), but I think thats a price worth paying. Its not a facking cat walk after all.

I wear a met parachute, had it since 2007. I don’t understand the intense negativity towards them, its a bit weird if you ask me. Great helmets.

I’m also looking at getting a new one, as the chin guard on mine is a bit bent off centre after landing on my face. Without it I could easily have lost my teeth. Don’t let the sad twunts on here put you off.

I don’t think 20mm will ruin the bike. I tried my 07 ex 8 with 170mm/150mm Marzocchi fork, but only a couple of rides while waiting for a new frame. It felt ok to me. perhaps obviously, 170mm was too much on anything apart from the downhill, but I liked 170mm downhill. General riding 150mm was fine, to my palate at least. I guess it depends what characteristics are important to you. Pros and cons to everything.

emptied and refilled several times, now they suck up a lot. Just refilled in a highly neurotic manner, got quite a sweat on! No way can the chambers not be equalized! Bring on tomorrow evening so I can ride once more!
