those jumps at the bottom of the black run look nothing on this video, but they are intimidating in real life, especially the upper one. I’ve done them on my dh bike but not had the balls on my rocket. Fair play to you rizla.

I’m running the octaramp 30t ring on the middle ring of my xt crank. Didn’t need to fettle the crank at all.

I think clinachx is brilliant. There are some crappy fire road bits, but overall its excellent. Loads more fun than cyb for me. I find Cyb quite boring in comparison. It is short though, but as said above you can redo the immense dh section. I rode it on a 160mm travel rocket. I love hopping off all the natural features. If you don’t like being airborne then maybe its not so good. saying that there were also some challenging technical ascents, which i really enjoyed. I love it there.

Hey nice choice! I also have a black rocket. I would recommend helitaping it. Glossy black doesn’t fair too well in mud. I helitaped the top tube but wish I’d done more. The rear triangle in particular is quite dull now rather than glossy.

I’ve got a white/black Bos fork, special edition black M4’s, white bars and stem, white seat with black centre stripe, black flow rims. It looks really good, even if I do say myself! Cost too much though 😳

Nickhead, it was probably me you saw at Cannock on Saturday. next time say hello.

The best place I’ve taken my rocket, climachx machynthlleth. That trail is made for the rocket. I’m going back asap, highly recommended.

You could email Cotic, I did that and they were happy to give advice.

And I suppose you’d make that joke if you weren’t anonomously hiding over the internet? Coward.

stealing from a shed is considered a minor offense regardless of what was stolen. Stealing a vehicle is considered a more serious crime.

Muddyfunster, why say that about my wife? Is that not a bit weird and spiteful?

I think its massaging the figures that makes crime look like its falling. The prisons are full, there is little deterrent, high rates of youth unemployment. Why would crime be falling?

My bikes are insured when in the shed (money I’d rather not be parting with), but what happens if they are stolen? Does the premium not increase? And if they come back and nick them again, as is often the case, will the insurance company just keep paying out?

I hope I got followed home from the trail centre yesterday, it was a 3hr drive 😆 (Climachx, well worth the journey, thats my new favourite trail. I pity these ‘superior beings’, that won’t ride trail centres, its absolutely brilliant there.)

I find kyle straits easy to use, light, they don’t move about and I forget about them.

lol, I’m sure you could ride it on a anything and still and have fun. yes it is flyupdownhill. Thinking about it, my Cotic is my pride and joy bike, don’t want it getting scratched in a trailer. So DH bike it is.
I had such a good blast on the Rocket at Climachx yesterday that I feel I want to remain faithful to it! Climachx trail is very well suited to the rocket.

gusset tight bastard lock on grips on the xc bike, grippy, cheap, thin but comfy. They look similar to the specialized sip that you mention, but they are cheaper.

odi long necks (flangeless) on the dh bike, very grippy, very comfy, reduced arm pump. Brilliant grips.

He is not a blokey bloke, he is more like a dale winton bloke, but far far less confident.
Yes the airing cupboard is going to be a permanent thing, no choice really, there is very little to deter a theif from your shed. Not sure what to do about the loss of airing cupboard. I currently have a washing mc under the stairs, if that can go in the shed, bikes under stairs, she gets it back. All in good time.

I know what you mean but I think he was frightened, he is quite a timid type. He got the reg no. of the car but was too scared to phone the police, not sure I fully understand that, but people are frightened and I don’t blame him for that. They could easily be targeted by these people.

I’ll order one. I don’t mind if it lets a bit of crap past, just as long as it stops the icey colonic jet I’ve suffered lately.

Mine does. How old is yours? Mine is about 5 years old. You only notice at the end of the bag. Then its unmissable.

Yes it is a kit for both front and rear mech. I only have single ring set ups.

Flying snake seem good. Ive fitted them to 3 of my bikes and they seem to last a long time. Not had to change one yet. You get outer, inner sheath and cable. With a continous cable set up there is very little opportunity for crap to get in. I recommend them. But they aint the cheapest.

I couldn’t get up some of the monkey hills, had to push. I chose a stupid rear tyre though, if I had gone for something with better clearing I reckon I could have got up most of it. As it was I had to walk on few sections. Lots of ice bath puddles on the downs that can’t really be avoided. The boardwalks are PROPER treacherous. Apart from that, it was really good fun. Lots of drifting. Very different to a typical ride but the sun and pretty snow made it uber pleasant. I want to go again.

Did cannock monkey trail this morning. It was good fun, lots of drifting on the downhills. It was beautiful and so quiet too. One of the nicest rides I’ve had in a while. I had to stop earlier than I liked because my feet were wet through, lots of unavoidably big ice bath puddles. Couldn’t find my winter boots this morning.

my x9 shifter never worked again after I took it apart. It was only a few weeks old when it started playing up. Piss poor really. I replaced it with x0 as I didn’t want to get a new rear mech. the x0 is still good 6 months on.

My card was accepted, not sure if thats a good thing or a bad thing, I don’t actually need any more knee pads….. My thighs are size small and my calves are size large, so I’ve gone for medium.

I’ve not got a compressor or ghetto inflator, never needed one before today.
I’ll try once more. I’ll put some fairy on the beads, leave them inflated to 50psi near the log burner and see if it helps.Otherwise I’ll ride tomorrow with tubes and see if that helps.

I think shimano are more reliable. Sram only seems reliable from x0. This is my experience at least.

I went 20 months ago. I also used Vertigo bikes. We spent most of the day on the Black runs (and my mate was a complete novice). When we were exhausted, we switched onto the blue run. I actually preferred the blue run, it was more fun.

In short, nothing to worry about. I can second the Fergburger.

I recently bought sram x9 shifter and it lasted a few weeks before stopping working. Discussions on here led me to bekieve that x9 stuff is shite. I upgraded to x0 and been fine since. Ive never had trouble with shimano, even the cheaper stuff. I think shimano are hard to beat for groupsets.

I have several pairs and i love wearing them. Definitely a dry warm weather thing though. Walking in nature in them is lovely, feels like bare foot but no pain. I play squash in them now but took a while to build up to that. Best to walk in them for a while before running as you won’t be used to it.
