I got a full walking stick across the knuckles from an old boy last year, luckily i had my fox dh gloves on with carbon inserts and my brakes/shifters deflected alot of it, he was shouting that unlike him i wasn't using the canal bank for its intended purpose, i politely pointed out out that its intended purpose was horses pulling barges along, he shook his stick a bit and said i should have a permit or something, i have one in my wallet thank you very much, yeah well says he and wanders off muttering…………………… good job i'm not easily angered.

And for the record i gave him fair warning as i do whenever i'm on the canal bank.

Dont know whether to take umbrage with that!!! I'm assuming you mean it's the last place you'd expect skiing to occur???

I really should decide whether to refurbish my existing patriot, or go brand new. Thats the ultimate question i guess! I do like the bb height of the patriot and the fact its got a great standover feel to it too. I'm sold on keeping it now i think. All of which now begs the question what fork/rear end combo do you all prefer, i've got 888's on at minute cos they're the only working set i've got at moment!

I like the idea that the alpine climbs better than a patriot and decsends well but what would it be like on a 40 mile bimble???

Thats another option, i've already got the 190mm set up on the back end with a dhx air, which the jury is still out on!! I've seen some cheap lyriks on ebay too. Its just that most of the other componentry is on its last legs too but i'm sure i could get it back on its feet.

Creative zen x-fi, i've had i-pods but the creative sound just blows them away, software is a doddle too, plus you can slip in a memory card up to 32gb.

Mixed decade, highs, lows, start a band have a blast, have a kid, have a serious nervous breakdown, get through it, realise that staying together for the kid is not the best thing, kid is still monumentally happy and loved, hit 40 decide that my job sucks and decide that i've grown the cohones to go do something about it next year. All in all i've nothing to grumble about, nothing killed me and things made me stronger. Think its called life!! Happy new year and decade to all on the forum.

Hmm i'm 41 and haven't felt the urge to learn yet. But if i could drive i'd be brilliant at it. I'm a god on a fork truck. I now have a kick me sign stuck to my back!

It matters not, but i like to question things!!! If, as suggested, himalayan minerals are just rock salt from pakistan then some clever bugger has made it marketable yet still legal. I want his job.
