I’ve heard rumours you can see the top of snowdon too, but i’ve yet to see it, or blackpool tower. But then again its often cloudy at the pike

Big dummy sir it is you and your ilk who have brought the skool to Calderdale and kept it there and one day i shall venture Brantwards for more enlightenment but i shall say this first, my skill and gnarl were earned in the 70’s upon a blue Royal Enfield with cow horn bars, frame angles didn’t matter, suspension was a mere twinkle, and the moorland bomb holes we jumped out of have long since been reclaimed for agriculture, i can truly say ‘i remember this before it was fields’. So i shall venture to Tod one day but it will not be to buy into a lifestyle, only to enhance it and move closer to the light…….

Jesus, Calderdalians, we all think we’re Ted Hughes!!!

Nah, choose my passing spot perfectly for max effect!!! I say passing spot it was more me going off a six foot drop and one of them doing the chicken run while the others stood at the top scratching their arses.

My Patriot was pretty loud til i wrapped an old tube around the swing arm, its that big old hollow frame amplifying the sound!! Dude at orange told me about a fella filling his with insulation foam to stop the noise!! Classic.

Well i’ve never ridden a trail centre before but from what i’m reading there seems to be a lack of community at some of them?? I’ve encountered mostly good, friendly people on the natural local stuff (apart from one occasion with a group of arrogant fellas on expensive specialized who were def in the category of all the gear no idea, very satisfying to smoke them on a downhill run, proving you cant buy your way into a life style). So please tell me i’m wrong about trail centres cos some of em look ok!!!

As for the fella barging past, total git. if your downhill run is really that important to you stop, turn round and do it again. Courtesy and manners cost nothing.

They dont look nearly as nice as Hope, but i’d suggest they may brake better! For 395 tho i’d want ABS too.

I’d be tempted to try without sleeve too, and if it works over compensate for missing spacer with a **** load of grease.

Im sure i saw one for sale somewhere for about 15k, cant remember where tho. You just wouldn’t would you tho, you’d have to make your own spares!

weird, i cant imagine the inner spacer being too big, and if its plastic it can hardly push the BB out the other side. sounds thread related, whether its on the frame or the BB i dunno!!!

I remember the ‘secrecy’ surrounding the gearbox, but didn’t it just turn out to be an enclosed cassette kinda set up???

    TheDoog

What BB you trying to put in?? Tho i’m geussing they all have similar length threads.

I just put a hope BB in my patriot, got it chased and faced just to be on the safe side. Went in no probs.

You might wanna take it to LBS and get it chased.

Are you using the correct amount of spacers?? orange are 73mm BB so you’d need one spacer on the drive side.

Im refurbishing a set of pikes and as far as i can work out you can convert air u-turn to coil u-turn, i could be wrong. It looks easy enough to convert but it depends how mechanically minded you are. Having just stripped down some pikes i can assure you its messy!!!

Cottage cheese and kiwi fruit on a sun dried tomato foccacia bread, I have my butler cut the crusts off after he’s pushed my bike to the top of a run.

I cant eat chinese on the eve of a ride, all that MSG doesn’t half dehydrate you for the morning.
