I had a pair of Elixirs, they were brilliant when they worked, which wasn’t often.

I just checked on the Powertec room planner just to make sure and there is no way i’d have enough room for a power cage, the bar is longer than the space I have available, and a 6 ft bar doesn’t fit in the rack.

I get what you saying hmanchester, but the reason I’m looking for user reviews is because I want to know what the squatting motion is like, is it natural or does it force you to squat in an awkward fashion? Also I have a shoulder issue, so I also wanted to know if the pressing motion is comfortable.

I’m not saying is there isn’t anything better out there, if I had the space I’d have a power rack, but I think with enough room for the bar to move freely, the cage might be up against the bed, which isn’t ideal.

Thanks for your opinion mate, but like I said I’m after user reviews, not whether you think I made the right purchase or not. I know what space I have to work with, and with the bench detached the lever gym is a lot smaller than a power rack so it won’t be in the way when not in use. I also have a full set of free weights, including barbell, weight bench, a pull up bar, and dip bars. This is to expand on the equipment I already have, I’m not starting from scratch. I’ve also been lifting for a rather long time and have made some great gains, so with all due respect, unless you are over 185 lbs with 10% BF, I don’t really need your training advice either.

Sooo, back on topic, any user reviews would be appreciated, thanks you please.

Thanks Saleem. Most people who’ve used one say they are brilliant.

No offence to the rest of you, but I’m after user reviews, not opinions on whether I’ve bought the right thing from people who’ve never used one. I can’t fit a power rack in my bedroom, the overall footprint is much bigger, I don’t have the room to be swinging a 7ft bar around, and and ill be using dumbbell too, so stabilisation muscles not getting worked isn’t an issue.

This is what the levers are all about

    Spec:

    Max weights

Lever Press Arm = 226 kg
    Lat Machine = 136 kg
    Squat Bar= 226 kg

There are a few advantages, the main one is you don’t need a spotter to lift heavy, plus I already have a set of free weights.

Camel back is a good shout, I’ll try cleaning it out, I remember that making me feel rough before!!

I’m definitely getting enough rest so its not that.

Heart rate zone should be right, I’m using a Polar HRM with ownzone which works it out for you, plus I’ve been sticking to the lower end (120 bpm) so I doubt its that.

    Thanks for the suggestions.

    Thanks for the replies.

I can do 25 minutes of barbell complexes and I feel fine, thats pretty high intensity. I also do 3 hours of weight lifting a week with no adverse effects. I keep my protein intake around 1g per lbs of bodyweight, I eat enough carbs, and fats. I am also always well hydrated.

I can’t get my head around it.

The beemer is a generation older, not as safe, not as well equipped, more common, more expensive to fix, more expensive to buy, not as good looking (in my opinion), personally I think they are not as nice to drive, and have the potentially terminal subframe issue which is more common than you may think.

I think I’ve made the right choice anyway.

Whats the real world an mpg

25 round town and 35 on a run driving sensibly, combined is 27 ish, not bad for a 3 litre V6 weighing 1.5 tonnes.

    Nice one. Enjoy it!
Didn’t think they were still getting that much money. Maybe I have undervalued our TDCI!

Thanks bud, Most with that mileage are selling for between £3500-£4500 depending on condition, colour and spec. ST TDCI’s are about 1k more.

I’ll post some photos up when I get it, this thread wouldn’t be complete without photos (hint hint)

Well I just bought one, pick it up Monday, slightly excited to say the least, and got it for a bargain sum of £3250.

Its an 04 facelift in immaculate condition, had two owners from new (current one has had it for 3 years), full ford service history, 46k on the clock, in silver with cream leather. Its had a new clutch 2k ago, has xenons, sunroof, and all the other usual ST goodies.

    Can’t grumble for that price.

    Thanks for the replies.

I did have a look at the ST TDCI but you are looking at least a grand more for the same year and condition as an ST220, so their goes your fuel economy saving straight away, plus you lose the sound of the V6, they aren’t as well spec’ed, and you are potentially looking at expensive repair bills. I only do about 6k a year so a diesel really isn’t worth it.

The car I was originally after was a 330i, but after reading about the rear subframe mountings corroding and ripping holes in the boot floor, I decided against one. Also a saloon isn’t really practical for MTB’ing. After a quick google it seems the ST220 is actually quicker too, but the 330i has slightly better fuel economy.

I have read clutches are a bit weak on the 5 speed box, but I plan to go for the face lift 6 speed.

Any other problems I should be aware of?

I know that but do not want this on the bars as it is susceptible to damage and looks fookin stupid

You don’t need it on your bars if you only want it for tracking rides.

    Taking to long to pay?

Why not tell them you are not on the computer 24/7 and that if they accept your offer, you might not be on here to pay immediately, but you will pay as soon as you can.

It could be worse, they could have kept your money.

While we’re on the subject of components what’s with the straight bars, binned them 10 years a go because of the crappy handling and bad wrists. Am also sure I saw some bar ends. Is this sort of retro stuff in the rules?

Don’t you worry about it, they know what they’re doing.

Unless your son is very tall, he may struggle with the reach to the hoods

Exactly what I was thinking, at 10 he would probably need an XS or S depending on how tall he is (obviously 😉 )
