Just remembered the Boardman has had the shifters swapped for the older style silver X7 shifters with indicator windows.

Perfectly possible to get a decent finish, it doesn’t tend to be that durable though. I generally use car paint from Halfords (expensive) or a motor factor.

My tips would be warm the cans before hand, shake them really well and be very careful when they’re getting towards empty because they start to spit. Don’t spray if it’s very warm or the paint will be virtually dry before it hits the frame. If you paint outside chances are you will get bugs stuck in the paint.

I think Endura Singletrack are fairly short.

I’d say at least give some MTB SPDs a go before giving up on them.

I’ve recently got my first road bike and, having never used SPDs before, I don’t find them a problem at all – admittedly I’ve got them set as slack as they’ll go to start with.

NEVER MIND MOTO GP IS BACK SOOON PROPER RACING

I’d normally agree with you however last year was a bit of a snoozathon.

Let’s hope the rider swaps in the top teams spice things up a bit this year.

Some magura forks have brake mounts to fit rotors bigger than 6″ without adaptors – This is what they’re for.

I got 2 DMR pedal bushes in a huge box the other day.

I think you can rest assured that they wouldn’t be doing it if it cost them more. I can think of lots of reasons why it would cost them less however.

Relay would be a good idea – there’s usually an easily accessible switched live in the radio harness which you can use to switch the relay.

Fuse size depends on what gauge wire you use, google cable current ratings or something like that.

I believe that Titanium does unusual things when you work it. Basically the heat from drilling/cutting etc… changes the metals structure into an extremely hard compound that destroys all cutting tools.

How would anyone ever make anything out of titanium if that were true?

With wrong machining parameters (typically too slow a feed rate) it will plastically deform and work harden but this is true for lots of material – famously stainless steel in particular. When this happens you end up just rubbing the end of the drill against the surface with resulting heat build up and possibly breakage.

Try a cobalt drill, variously called cobalt, HSCO or M42 which is one of the more common grades.

If you can get over the Halfords stigma there’s some discount on 2010 Boardmans at the moment. Excellent spec for the price.

I've not seen those before but according to the SRAM website the MRX shifters are Shimano compatible.

or put another way sram shifters def won't work on a rear shimano mech

SRAM shifters with names (Attack, Rocket etc.) are shimano compatible.
SRAM shifters with numbers (x9, x7 etc) are not shimano compatible.

Can you not just measure your hub?

I've tried a few different cases and the one I settled on is the Speck Candyshell. The only negative I can say about it is I wish it were a tiny bit slimmer.

Theres no need to get there that early on saturday. On sunday you want to be there well before the gates open if you want a good general admission spot.

60W RMS per channel is optimistic, I suspect 60W total i.e. 15W per channel is more realistic.

How much do you want to spend? As some have indicated a seperate amplifier would be a big improvement.

I went from a Tesco jobbie to a Vaude Aquarius recently and it's lots better in terms of keeping you cool, significantly less sweaty back syndrome. Definitely try a different pack before giving up on them.

I too find it hilarious if you just listen to what the commentators are saying. 60% is redundant because you can see it on screen, 20% is stating the obvious and 10% is irrelevant.

Surely you can say the same for any televised sport?

Just in case it happens again – in Internet Explorer go to Tools, Internet Options, click the Connections tab and make sure "never dial a connection" is ticked.

Wouldn't you need the same torque regardless of material in order to apply the same amount of pressure to the dropouts to stop them slipping?

It's quite possible that the correct torque for the Ti bolt won't give enough clamping force, in which case just tightening it up more will result in rounding or stretching the bolt or stripping the thread if it's a crappy bolt. This is probably why manufacturers don't reccomend using Ti bolts.

Reccomended torque is (or should be) dependant on bolt material so you just wouldn't crank the Ti bolts so tight.

    They were made from MMC

Up until this year they would have been but the regs changed for 2010, uprights MUST be aluminium. Composites are specifically forbidden.

Article 10.5.1 of the f1 technical regulations, uprights must be made from a permitted aluminium alloy.

The OP is absoulutely correct, its a fantastic expample of carbon fibre failing catastrophically.

Except that the uprights are not made of carbon fibre.

Also SRAM shifters which have names rather than numbers i.e. attack, rocket (rather than X7, X9) work with shimano rear mechs.

    Edit: too slow.

P3 is at 6 and Q1 at 9 so either their time is wrong or they're showing P3 delayed.

There's normally a Function key for switching the video output, it will probably look like 2 little screens one of which is on and one off. Hold the Fn key and press it, might need to press it a few times.

    Do you have lego?

If so go get a lego wheel. Paint an arrow on it. Now swap it to the other side.

Yay, my tyre that was pointing in the wrong direction is now right!

Now I'll just put the one that was fine in the first place on the other side and………oh.
