This any good or is it an older z4? I expect you could use rubber / elastomer spacers if you couldn’t get hold of the additional top out springs. Maybe salvage some internals out of the Jett?

Didn’t work for me, unless someone’s snaffled it first!

I’d also be most appreciative if anyone had a £5 off £50 code going spare, providing the OP is already sorted first of course.

Is the £100 spend the only code around at the moment? Only need £60 odd worth of stuff!

Seats in my Ibiza Cupra are very comfy, not at all flat and hard. Might be worth a look if you can find any.

No chicken runs but it’s all rollable.

It’s more of a skills area rather than a new trail mind.

Oh and watch out for the braking bumps (already!) in the berm on the right hand jump line.

If it’s of any concern, from an engineering point of view, I think your wheel design is poor.

    Pictures needed I think!

If it’s a Marzocchi the year should be in a circle cast into the inside of a leg near the dropout.

Worst bit ive seen is 373 on the wall is supposed to be open but everyone i know who has ridden there lately is saying it actually looks closed.

I saw 373 closed on two visits a few weeks ago. It was open today with a new exit by the picnic bench. You can just see part of the old exit gate over on the left.

I have to agree regarding the lack of information regarding what’s opened, what’s closed and confusing/insufficient signs for the diversions. The maps that were on the website showing recent diversions were useless.

A couple of weeks ago I lost count of how many groups of confused looking riders we came across trying to work out where they were going on both White’s and the Walll. I started off showing 2 people around the Cymer diversion to the start of the Wal and had a good 15 strong group of confused riders in tow by the time we got there!

China’s is an ex-Russian one. Which you’d think the Russians might want to keep, but hey ho.

Unfinished Soviet carrier then Ukrainian. Not Russian.

Reverb is 208.99 Euros and shipping was 9.90 so 218.89 all together which, at the moment, is £176.65.

    I don’t think there’s any difference between 2012 and 2013 models.

My Reverb arrived from hibike today. 2012 model in full retail box with bleed kit etc.

I’ve got one on the way from Hibike at the moment. I ordered Wednesday night, it was shipped on Thursday and arrived at delivery depot Saturday so will hopefully be out for delivery tomorrow. No problems with them so far.

The best stuff would be epoxy resin. Not necessarily the cheapest.

The carbon/aluminium sandwich suggestions are not that outlandish – carbon/aluminium and carbon/titanium stacks are pretty common in aerospace these days. Thay are however expensive and difficult to make and machine.

Carbon wouldn’t survive the temperatures required for ceramic or diamond coating, even if you could get it to bond in the first place.

Might be worth a look at my thread from last week – http://www.singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/what-5ish-frame-for-a-grand

Although I ended up with a 2010 Meta off ebay of less than your budget.

If, by any chance, a brand new medium stumpjumper would be of interest then drop me a line.

I’m not keen on Kona for some reason. Don’t really know why and have nothing against them, I just wouldn’t buy one.

Thanks for all the suggestions, definitely some to consider. A lot of them are too much travel for me, should have been more specific! Looking for 130mm-140mm really.

It appears to be the forum trend to just redescribe exactly what other people say…

I see your point and agree that there’s a lot of that in this thread. On the other hand there’s a difference between just saying “it’s because of swept length” with no explanation and explaining a point based on concrete laws of physics to back it up.

    TheChunk

This “swept area” that people are mentioning, at first I thought it sounded like plop but thiking about it if Work = Force x Distance then presumably the larger circumference of the larger disc will mean that the friction force does more work (i.e. converts more kinetic energy to mainly heat) per revolution of the wheel. Does that sound right?

My old man’s about 5′ 10″ so right on the border of medium and large according to the size guide.

Apparently the Lbs sat him on a large stumpjumper and reckoned it would be alright as there’s not much between the camber and stumpy size wise ( their words). I’m not convinced personally particularly as looking at the geometry charts the camber is a bit longer.

No worries! The last word of my post should be tube rather than post before anyone points that one out.

The seat post won’t be the same size as the seat clamp. Seat post size is inside diameter of seat tube, seat clamp size is outside diameter of seat post.
