+1 for the first Strava link and Buckmorend Farm shop (where a bike repair place has just moved to).

I would try to find a dry-ish period if possible as after rain it’s a fun mix of deep mud and slippery chalk.

There’s also Lotts wood near Amersham where there are a few features and talk of opening up Aston Hill again but wouldn’t expect much for a while there

Managed to get out for a brief trip for the second time since daughter arrived in Jan. Really wet and slow

Very much feeling it now so suspect the next trip may be a while off!

I keep an eye on the Aston Hill FB page in the unrealistic hope they get something sorted with the FC and obtain a big chunk of HS2 money to rebuild properly.

Aware it’ll probably never happen but always good to dream!

Thanks everyone. I have an old Assegai which I’ve found and will stick on instead.

Would probably have been fine but would rather not take the risk

Their phoneline is down until September but they are responding via their online chat.

    https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/hm-revenue-customs/contact/self-assessment

click on ‘Ask HMRC online’ it’s a computer response initially but if you ask a couple of times to speak to an agent they should put you through. May take a couple of tries (recommend doing it early in the morning) but they should be able to cancel things immediately and you can also save the chat in case of future issues which you can’t do on the phone

Thanks everyone, I’ve ordered a Barzo and may try that out on the back as things dry out.

Thanks for the feedback on the bike choice. Am looking at getting into some more advanced riding and living about 10 minutes from Aston Hill if/when it reopens I wanted to try something a bit burlier

Yes, based in the Chilterns so thanks for the location specific advice! Might take a look at the Barzos

You will need need to submit annual accounts and probably Corporation tax returns each year.

You will be able to tell HMRC you are dormant however to remove the CT obligation.

As for accounts you can submit a AA02 form for dormant accounts which means you don’t have do prepare and file ‘full’ accounts. No need for an audit until you are turning over £10m per year or so
