Get a pair of Merino leggings from Aldi (there were loads in my local yesterday). You’ll be wearing them until you here the first cuckoo!

I have some Epic waterproof howies jeans. They’re not particularly epic and not very waterproof. Great for washing the bike though. Sort of splashproof. Like a cheap Casio watch.

Google Keep. It’s a flippin’ marvel. Much like Evernote but far less faffy.

Sweet ride. Nice colour too. I use a 34 x 18 for all off road but the 34 is oval which makes quite a difference when you’re out of the seat stomping up a hill! I’ve got a 16 for those lovely dry and dusty summer days when I’m not carting a kilo of mud around with me.

    Enjoy it.

I recently had the same conundrum. I went no mips for three reasons…

    1) they cost more!
    2) i couldn’t work out whether a minor otb would be enough to make the inner mips membrane slip and thus ruin the helmet.
    3) i read something on the internet that pointed out that even a well fitted helmet would slip on your hair and and move with your scalp to such a degree that the mips system is a little redundant. Give it a go…

Supposedly the safest sort of helmet is all smooth and roumd like a motorcycle lid so nothin can catch it as you scrape along the pavement and thus twist your melon (man).

So I’m probably wrong (and I’m sure this will be pointed out to me fairly soon) but i decided not to mips on this occasion.

    Hope that helps!

Just walked the dog. Pockets filled up with water. Stream covered bridge. Water went over top of boots. I can confirm it is definitely wet and soggy out there.

I use mine on the same trails as my fs but choose my line a LOT more carefully and run a softer front tyre.

Cruds wouldn’t fit my Planet X xls xc bike. Disc mounts stuffed it up.

A little hanging hook for a Dremmel and baby wipes.

Never fails to surprise myself at what i can fix/improve/bodge with a Dremmel. Turned a 17mm come wrench into a 19mm today!

And baby wipes because I’ve not found a greasy component they won’t clean. Don’t stint though. Johnsons are waaay better than Huggies.

Spent ages with this problem. Got the forks serviced and everything. Then the same started happening on my other bike. Did some more googling and sanded down the brake pads and properly aligned the calipers and hey presto no more judder.

Turns oit i do a lot of comfort braking and don’t notice I’m doing it. It glazed the pads on both bikes and this meant the taller bits of the rotor gripped more than the shorter bits making it judder.

I still comfort brake but make sure i grab a full handful of lever regularly to burn all the crud off.

Has anyone mentioned the head gaskets? They’ll go and it’ll cost you 2k to fix. If anybody says they won’t, don’t believe them. They will and you’ll kiss goosbye to the ti build you were planning.

    And they eat petrol.

    Other than that they’re fun.

Check the steerer will cope with the Sherpa’s longish headtube and don’t forget the Sherpa has external bearings which add almost another 10mm. I’ve nearly bought a frame but my donor forks are 20mm too short!

+1 for Bolle Contours. Cheap as chips and don’t make you look like Bono.
