Had a square taper BB from O O on the Fatty with an old FSA chainset worked fine but the bearings weren’t that good. Now running a square taper on the Moonie with RS7’s got the 164mm version from Ridewill as the Moonie is affectively a 190 mm rear – works great

I run a Zee with 32 front 11 – 36 rear on 2 Fat Bikes and have 22 upfront as well I just cant use 3 smallest cogs when in the 22 tooth – not needed anyway apart from that all works fine 😀

I have the Tundra rims built onto Hopes and some GFS 80mm rims both fit on my Fatty running 2*10 with no chain rub if that helps – the picture has the GFS rims fitted

If you are thinking about going for the Charge make sure you ride another Fat Bike first – I found the steering really bad on it even after we swapped the front wheel with an O O Fatty wheel .My mate hired it for the day and was not that impressed – he loves my On One but as there a few about locally he’s got a Puffin on its way 😀

I own two now – one from Alaska and from Sheffield TBH there’s not much between them both as they ride really well on trails and the beach the main difference is the cost as one is nearlly twice as much as the other 😀

If Ginge bridge was the bit with the big queue and people walking/sliding down on the left all four of us “Fatties” rode down it and up the rooty climb the other ride – plenty of grip 😀

CIS what’s a Fate Bike ? – I have seen your riding fateful more like 😀 I have run mine 1×9 11/32 2×9 11/32 and now it 32/19 SS for the winter prob will make it 32 11/36 10 speed once the weather is better as that will be plenty for me

On an On One you can use an E-Type if you have one and a £3 clamp from CRC and an hours time with a piece of alloy and a couple of bolts – the drop is so it lines up with the hole in the mech 🙂

I’m using the Race Face Chester on my Fatty its an external BB so when it wears out replace it with either the same or Shimano – it retails at £120 no rings – It’s running 22/32 loads of adjustment due to all the spacers it comes with – a nice and stiff crank 😀

Seen it I think the On One Fatty is a nicer frame -the head angle/forks on the On One are slacker BTW its heavier as well (if that’s possible)mine before changing the tubes and non drilled rims was 36 lbs this weighed in at 37 lbs with drilled rims using the same shop scales.

Royce do a 100mm TI about £180 and Middleburn apparently do the X Type in 100mm – 40 mpg dont forget I have a Uno Rs7 square taper Im not using 😀

I run the Race Race Chester 2×9 on my Fatty works great great but I think I had the first one Silverfish sold and the crank bolt was the wrong size but thats sorted and its a good strong crank and bearings are easier to get over the Truvativ BB as its external

The Caribou is the better spec – but for £1500 it shoulf be – mine only cost about £700 ish with a brand new chainset and BB – The One One Fatty is geared only so a tensiner is needed – Im thinking of trying it and starting on a 20 tooth once the mud sets in

…but the whole point of fatties is their ‘individuality’, right?…

Nup, it’s to have fun. And that you’ll have.

It’s good we have 2 great choices from UK sources – the On-One and the Singular.

Dont forget the Charge Cooker as well they are UK based but as Ciderinsport is going to get one then its going to clash with one of us – 40mpg knows its fun he’s been watching me having a great time going where I want to at a half reasonable pace and a smile on my face.

It wont be the same as mine as I bought the rolling chassis and fitted Race Face cranks and other bits I had – since the picture ive changed the rotors to orange floaters and the stem and the seatpost still got the drill the rims – and no 40mpg will not get mine as he knows how much I like it we do also have a very good local powder coater which we have both used so colour changing is an easy option 😀

MB – if you can’t take junior MB, you could take me instead!

I suppose I wouldn’t have to read bedtime stories then.
Can you squeeze into the same size suitcase?

The Cider Barrel squeezing into a suitcase now that would be funny- a container would be better 😆

Mine was 36 lbs when weighed on on proper bike scales its a 2×9 but I have dropped 300 g per wheel by fitting Specialized 2.3 -3.0 tubes thanks Singlecrack 🙂 – and yes next year there will be a Fat Bike Challenge 😀
