all sizing across the different manufacturers differs slightly so you may need get a try on one some how, but this one's pretty good.

I'm 6ft 1, 32 inch legs and monkey arms and I ride a large Giant Defy with a 110mm stem. Pretty irrelavant though to be honest.

I have a l/s howies base layer, that due to various reasons, i wore for the majority of my rides last year. even in the summer, I pulled the sleeves up and don't remember being too hot.

    Its good stuff.

Has to be one of these. I had a black one on my last bike, and I loved it, will be getting another for my next build.

i'd be tempted to say that as you saw it in person before handing over the cash and doing the deal, its down to you. you had the chance to check the pads etc when you first saw it, if you didnt then thats your fault imo. if you look at it from the sellers point of view, then you could of done anything to it since it left his possession. could have just changed your mind for all he knows.

if you had received it through the post then i'd be a lot more on yourside but unfortunatley, you bought something pretty much sold as seen, and its down to you to pick these things up.

ah your on your own there, fortunatley I give that region a going over with the clippers. Infact I may well just carry on south next time and get the thighs trimmed a bit…

    anyway, back on subject 😉

the_prophet- How hairy are you? My leg hair doesn't poke through *shudders*

i'm not like a bear if thats what your thinking 😆

I would class myself as not a particularly hairy guy, just one day last week I looked down and there were a few random hairs poking through on the tops of my thighs, not a good look.

edit: Glad im not the only one…

^ thats optional, but when you look down and see hair poking through the lycra, you'll consider it…. hmmm

only ones i found when looking were the rapha touring & fixie shorts. but there expensive, so I gave in and bought some 3/4 bibs. I couldnt care less what I look like, they feel awesome and I'd forgotten how good it was to ride a bike fast without clothing flapping about. man up.

I learnt that, abandoning the car last night and drinking, thinking i'll hop on the road bike today to go and collect it was a bad idea. A 20 mile ride, in the heat, hungover and trying not to puke was not what I had in mind last nite whilst getting the drinks in. never mind. its a bank holiday wk end, have to make the most of it.

You can't cut one 6" straight line? I don't think you should be allowed outside unsupervised

    😆

its not really that hard to do yourself, just use a stanley knife and a ruler or a pair of scissors, trim to fit. done. saved yourself a few quid.

you still running the standard pads? i'd give these a go before you spend a bit more money on a full upgrade. there a good bit better than standards

I was taught to wheelie by my friends dad…

    my dad didnt mind.

I think i probably would. he'l learn off his friends sooner or later anyway. although saying that, i still have memories of my dad teaching me too ride on a cold winters day in the park. pretty special memory.

    tough one.

not really, id see it as getting suitable position ahead of traffic. jumping a red light is what half of bristol seem to do, and just slow down check nothings coming and plow on through. positioning ahead of traffic is a good idea as it gives you a chance to get some momentum going before being passed closely by a car / lorry.

^ he didnt. read the posts above….

great video. made me look forward to my commute on monday for some reason. i enjoy the ride through traffic for some reason. its a buzz after sitting in the same old congestion in the car for the last 8 or so years.

    man flu.

newish bike and heap of new kit and I can't move.

hopefully that'll be it for the year now and the rest of the weekends of weather like this, i'll be out enjoying them…..

can you not buy enough food the first day of the week to make things at work for the rest of the week? surely you've a small kitchen area where you can knock something up, salads, etc. if you only make the 1 hour round trip on the monday for example, surely its worth it if it means you can eat well for the rest of the week. Or, make things at home at take them in, a tupperware as said wont take up much space and you can fill it with whatever you like.

for breakfast, you could surely get the canteen to knock up some beans on toast. thats not that bad and would fill a hole?

i just wore a t shirt everytime ive been. you've got overalls on top and running around you just get too hot.

it stings yes, depending on where you get tagged but be a man and just get on with it. you will get targeted alot more wearing a full body suit of armour or chainmail…..

I got hit under the arm last year, on my tricep area, started off with a small red circle as per usual, next morning i had a big blood bruise stretching from my armpit to my elbow.

or, if your refferring to them being cold. get some thermal socks or sealskins and double up. providing you have room in your shoes.

if they say they can get them from supplier and they will take a couple of days to arrive, then fair enough, but saying in stock should mean they will be posted straight away. Felt to me like they were pulling the sales in under false advertising. I understand that they may have some of the items in stock, obviously they have done from reading the above replies, but if its not, then just say that on the advert.

faultless deliveries from wiggle and crc over the past few weeks for me, so in future i'll be sticking with what i know.

haha im having the same issues as most of you then. i placed an order earlier in the week for over £100 worth of kit, in plenty of time for it to arrive for the wk end when i needed it. chose them specifically as there website said it was in stock, where my usual shops didnt have it.

placed the order, email the next day saying there'd been a delay and they were waiting for stock to come in. emailed them this morning saying how disapointed i was, and they've basically told me that the site shows availability and not whether its in stock……depsite the website saying clearly "in stock"

frustrated and won't be using them again.

im 26, sat home, few beers watching the rugby, planning out a route for tommorrow morning. getting up early before any traffic for a spin on the new road bike. cant wait.

i couldnt care if its viewed as sad by others who are somewhat cooler than i am, its my life not theres.

lets just all hope its sunny / dry tommorrow or we'll all look silly….. 😉

Just been up to check fitment / sizes etc, after all the groundwork was done yesterday only ended up in there for 15mins or so. A quick spin on the trainer, bit of advice and guidance on how it should "feel" (something I'm really struggling with – having not ridden a road bike before) from one of the guys there (maywell of been craig..??!) and i was done.

collecting a defy 2 tommorrow 🙂 think this may be the start of soemthing….

    Thanks for all your help

Popped into zero g at lunch time actually, possibly the most helpful bike shop ive ever been in! heading back there tommorrow night for a fitting / measurement.

it wasnt Craig that served me, was James, but i understand now why you say he knows a little….roll on tommorrow night and the darkside!

that seiko 5 posted above is a nice watch (ive got one on a material strap) but, its far from a chunky watch. its tiny.

if it were me i'd look for another g shock, or keep your eye on ebay for something secondhand. nixon / fossil also make decentish and cheap chunky watches.

think i might of met him at a local spot a gd few years ago now, when he was first setting up shop. little guy / dark hair?
