The most annoying thing is that I’m cross with myself for actually believing that something would actually happen this time.

    “are you not entertained?”

Roll on LBL, the most doped single day race in history going on previous winners.

    Like that.

Think the Palace logo looks a little lost on the TT, size wise it seems small compared to the main downtube logo.

    Still lovely though.

Well that was all to predictable and frankly a little boring. Roll on Sunday.

Missed everything but the last 5 minutes of last week’s race and I’ll be out racing this Sunday when LBL is on, still another one tomorrow.

Interesting case, gets busted for probable old school cortisol use and some frankly embarrassing baby food substance, yet doesn’t get done for the various other grey area misuse that by most people’s accounts is rife amongst the peloton.

Another vote for running faster here, although I appreciate that its a personal thing, but for me my biking fitness takes care of the distance element and all I have to run is one speed session a week to maintain a pretty good standard.

Those splits show no strength/weakness, as the rule of thumb is/was double your 5km time and add 2 minutes.

    Simple week schedule:
One long one, XC is perfect for this
    One tempo run
    One interval session

As other have said, what are you doing at the moment?

was anyone else disappointed it wasn’t won by a solo break or display of power like Terpstra last year or Fab/Boonen in previous years? The sprint was interesting but it felt to me like a bit of an anti-climax compared to a big solo effort.

That was my initial reaction too, however the more I think about it, the more I think it was a bloody brilliant race. Just look at the quality of riders coming off Carrefour de l’Arbre together.

I’m still trying to get my head around the race!

That bridge by Degenkolb was mind blowing, he put everything on the line and totally deserved the win by committing like that.

Luke Rowe and Jens Keukeleire were bloody good too.

For an XL frame that’s pretty well proportioned, partly due to the long headtube, but even so the wheels don’t look like 26″ ones as can happen.

Now you just need a slammed minus degree stem for that Adam Hansen look 😀

    Nice choice of tyre!

Good looking bike, (in a carbon black and white way), have fun.

Think my time prediction for the Rapha comp looks shot to bits. Bloody flying along at the moment.

A woke up from a very vivid dream knowing Stannard had won, around two last night. This might have been down to too much craft IPA however I’ve had to put ten pounds on him to win as I’d never forgive myself if I didn’t and he did do it.

Kudos to those who rode yesterday, it’s high up on my bucket list.

Ooh that preview run is very good TV.

I’ve no concept of those speeds or bikes, but man that was something else.

    Middle bit looked fun 😆

Ooh, with Campagnolo too, nice 8)

Interesting that the red/orange frame has the matching colour graphic on the fork, whilst the green one is white.

Good link there, but agree the black version is somewhat boring.

I’m not the worlds great Specialized fan but they do a very nice Allez E5 frame at the price point we are all talking about.

Thanks for the link to the start list, great to see a couple of Brits racing for lower level teams being picked.

Can’t see Kristoff doing it Sunday, although there is no pressure on him now, but he’s going to be so heavily marked.

Interesting dilemma, I also have an odd scratch to itch with a new road frameset too, (wider tyres and non boring black carbon being today’s dislike). So far the Bowman tops the list, but the CAAD is excellent as I’ve a training partner with one, and the Kinesis Aithein is also well rated.

Great to have such a choice.

for 2 hrs i’d probably just take a gel or 2 to drop in at 40 mins and 1:20. solids not required IMO.

Absolutely. However as always do it in training first as to not experiment in a race.

    So hard to call.

Part of me thinks that as the two bigs guys are out of action the other leaders will mark each other out the game and the winner will come from a breakaway, rather like Van Summerman a few years ago.

Can’t find a start list on cyclingnews website to check for suitable lieutenants, but someone like Haussler could well benefit.

Obviously it’s written in the stars that Wiggins will win it, but really?

BMC have to win something as well this Spring, so Oss?

    Who the hell knows?

On a sample of two countries I can say that the UK has a huge spread of wages per role compared to Sweden.

1000TSS, is that just cycling? (I ask as running gives a higher TSS per time spent training), that’s a lot of training.

    toe warmers (odd).

Agree, very odd. I much prefer buying over priced socks and then cutting holes in them.
