Nice build, like the touches of green.

Rocket Rons seem an odd choice to me though.

Ten days is the standard dose, and it worked for me before when I had the classic bullseye mark.

I was under the impression that Lyme disease comes from getting borrelia, but not in every case.

If you’re worried about mud then I’d guess your road frame with cross tyres would through up an interesting clearance problem.

Mud 2’s work OK if you’re running clinchers. Dugast Pipistrello’s are excellent, (as are most file treads), if you’re running tubs.

Little early in the season for this?

    Update:

Thanks for the help guys. Almost there

My iPhone already syncs with my Office Outlook, so no issues there. I created a Google account and then synced my laptop with the Google calendar using there sync tool. Perfect, 700 odd items straight over, no issues.

I then shared my calendar with my wife so she can view, create, and edit appointments. Excellent.

The only question remaining is that I can not get my new iPhone CalDAV account to push updates to Google. I’ve two new meetings on my phone that have not synced. I have no access to my laptop, therefore I’d like my phone to push these appointment to Google. Any ideas?

I’d be doing intervals (the Sufferfest videos are excellent for this), maybe some kind of weight training (abs + lunges + squats + upper body), as well as the usual weekend long rides.

It really is that simple. Off four bike sessions a week, and one weights session it is possible to compete at a quite a high level.

I’d look at getting your baseline fitness measured, heart rate levels, and power/kg. This will allow you to start training at the correct levels of intensity to avoid burning out on the turbo over winter. Then go back in Feb/March time and get the same tests done. Adjust your training, and repeat.

OK, getting there. Do I need the PC sync as well, or will the fact my iPhone is syncing suffice?

    Interesting suggestion, thanks.

So I would create a Google account and simply push my calendar entries there, (via an app?), and then share the Google calendar username/password with my wife so she can use it?

So didn’t I didn’t travel, race, or train Saturday. Got two long undisturbed sleeps in (many thanks to my little ones for also sleeping well). An easy hour this morning on the bike, and now feel fitting fit again. Yeah!

    Thanks guys.

Yes driving so far seems somewhat odd having written it down like that!

No sore throat, no cold in the head, just general aches and a little cough. Will pack tonight and see how I feel in the morning.

There’s always loads of barely used ones for sale. Split the budget and get a turbo and some rollers.

Rapha Belgium style cap here, excellent warmth in sub zero temps, nice styling to boot.

It’ll be great for a few months then you’ll regret not buying the Swift, want to upgrade and then blow the budget on parts to make it better. Repeat until you swap all the bits on to your new Swift frame

I ride with a bunch of Merida sponsored riders, nothing wrong with their bikes. As was said they are a massive producer of frames for themselves and other makes too.

Road.cc have some nice night shots of the majority of the lights on the market, it looks like it holds it own.

I’m wanting one as I really like Lezyne products but I haven’t seen one in the flesh yet.

    Not much help, sorry

Yes they are the same. Loads of guys run standard Shimano, Campag, Mavic, etc road wheels.

I’m not sure you are trying to replicate the fit of your road bike 100% with a CX bike. The angles are different and the BB normally higher, therefore its going to feel different.

But generally then if your road bike it 54 then a CX should be that size, or smaller. This is why going to a LBS is so useful.

For reference I run a 110mm stem at -6 degrees on my mountain bike, and a 100mm at +6 degrees on my cross bike

Excellent advice deviant. Scales can become defeating after a while.

Smaller portions more often does it for me. I eat a lot less in one sitting now than I did 10-15 years ago when I was twenty something.

Eating healthily and eating not to put on weight are too different things.

Knee warmers down to single figures, then add embrocation. Once snow and like are about then tights with cycling shorts on top. Even colder, then add embrocation into the mix. Worked last winter down to minus 15. Colder than that then I stop riding to spare my lungs.

Dura-Ace bits, 42 front, with 12-27 cassette at the back. Ultegra wheels but no tubs ;-(

Used for racing the Swedish national series.

Water for training rides, IsoStar for racing. However I mostly use bottles, and the Camelback only comes out for races over CX distance/time, (circa 1.5 hours).

Its not just weight that makes a difference, its the stiffness as well. I noticed huge improvements in front-end control upgrading to American Classic wheels from entry level Mavic’s.

Hmmm, that is nice, “only” 1kg penalty for FS so a non bank-breaking build should come in at 24Lbs/sub 11kg.

Their whole FS range seems to resemble Trek quite a lot, (not a bad thing). Unusual bike.

    Build kit/plans?
