These wheels were raced on all season by quite a few pros/elite racers and were fine, tubs only though. They also make some very nice CX wheels.Revolver-racing

Ooh that’s a lot of money njee! Pity as they make good wheels, posts, stems, and bars, good luck with that though

Carbon rims make you faster in the mud as everytime you brake it costs you money, just the sound of grit between the blocks and rim is enough to hurt your wallet 😀

    Carbon rims and disks however…….

New Ultimate gear is excellent, but seemingly impossible to find, even over here in the Nordics

It may not be 100% accurate as to absolute power, but it should retain consistency for training benefits.

That I think is the key here, if you want power levels on the cheap then make sure the readings are consistent, rather than accurate.

However back to the original post, I have a cheap Tacx one for when I’m not on the rollers and its fine. I would though buy an Elite one if I were to upgrade as I like their products.

Same here, white arms and legs:

Nothing a little spray before washing will cure though.

Anyway back to the point, surely a cross skinsuit with out fleece is a time trial skinsuit 😕

If they’re the same fleece lined ones as we have over here, then yes most likely too hot for all but the Dec/Jan races.

That Boardman looks great, but needs some yellow hoods to really finish it off.

This is very nice CX race bike with disks

    Roger de Vlaeminck’s Gios Torino

MTB wise, that English is very nice

    Sorry to hear that.

I had the same issue with Endura merino wool, packaged it up, sent it back to Wiggle, received a replacement without issue, sold replacement, never been near Endura again.

Single ring, 42/12-27, used all sesson for training and CX racing.

Considering putting a 50 ring on for road riding this summer

Also a good video interview with David Miller on CyclingNews, he’s very honest about last years performance.

Sorry about that, I watched both parts yesterday and only had one of the address available when I posted that link.

Some great footage here from 1994, which was the last time it was held at this course

    I’d go with crack 🙁

I would guess that tubs work on that particular course as its tight and the lower pressures you would run would result in more speed being carried around and out of corners.

Both for road riding when really cold.

I suffer from cold feet and hands, (odd choice moving to Sweden one might say), however I use over socks when its plus ten with road shoes, winter boots for wet and cold days, and both winter boots and overshoes for zero and colder conditions. This seems to work well.

Oddly I find mountain biking in boots OK in zero temps as I guess I’m simply more active on the bike.

Carbon ones are very nice but new and so no bargains around, ali ones are very normal but can be had in the sales. Standard Trek lifetime replacement, so no worries there

I use a Whetstone on my Global knives, I can get a really sharp knife but they do blunt quite quickly. All my knives are 10 years old and have been sharpened the same way so I think they are worn in now.

I too find the process most relaxing.

That’s a very nice bit of purple anodizing there, not in keeping with the excess of the day at all

Take a buff to cover your month and nose, excellent for taking the chill out of the downhills, (road that is). Was the same temp over here yesterday, makes it more rewarding when you get back.

    Have fun

3 hour road ride tomorrow in what looks like sub zero temps. At least the new club winter kit has arrived!

Sunday will be a gravel road tour on the MTB

Go and talk to Jonas[/url] in Bergen.

Canyon.se have an excellent reputation for service if needed, however I understand your concern.

Not heard of Vipera to be frank.

That is a lot of money for a hardtail considering the likes of a Canyon Lux-MR 9 team can be had for 700 pounds less.

Other hardtails to consider would the 9.9ssl Trek that I have and the Cannondale Flash, either 26 or 29.

Fantastic helmet, no issues with mine after two seasons racing and travelling. Giro do a nice padded helmet bag if you’re worried.

Not tried one, but reading the spec they seem to be designed like that.

    From product spec:
“Allows the cyclist to move around on the bike, better simulating the feel of real riding, all whilst offering a more stable support platform than the previous Crono design”

EDIT: which model do you have?

Also for XC races ride the course as warm up so you know what is coming up.

I saved myself from two nasty surprises this year with technical sections that could have really ended in tears.

Unfortunately I’ve only ever had cheap glasses steam up, none of my Oakley’s do.

Pretty much what Njee said, nail the start and try and rest in the singeltrack, XC is one long interval session!

I drink a sports drink for XC and use a gel every 45 minutes or so for a marathon.

If you want gears then simply do as stated above, get a nice bike in the sales, buy some rigid forks and sell the bouncy ones to cover the cost.

The rigid, singlespeed, 29er niche is covered by Genesis, however they seem a little pricey currently.

CX race wheels at around 28 front and rear, going tubs next season
CX race wheels at around 32 front and rear, going tubeless this season

I weigh 73kg and ride “light”
