The creaking carbon fibre just adds to the tension!

OK so what’s the difference between a tactician and a strategist?

Why not do a national team time trial?

I think its because its only time a national team would race and therefore no one would ever wear the jersey, unlike the ITT or RR

That’s great, got lost a little, but made me laugh

I cant see the point of a purely badged frame if that’s what it is

It’s not, these three models are simply an introduction to the market, (timed for InterBike), he’s partnered with Time and his models will be out next year, so I’d expect to see his take on geometry on those

The three models out now are all connected to one of his three tour wins somehow.

If you don’t like the yellow one I’m sure the other two might suit sir 😀

I though Luke Dunbrdige would be racing for Aus but he’s not on the start list.

Can it really be anyone other than Wiggins, Cancellara, Martin and maybe Phinney?

    Yes, but very unlikely.

I’ll say: Martin, Wiggins, Cancellara in that order

    The-Swedish-Chef

Yes that’s him, there was a good Rapha film a few months ago with him in it too.

It’ll be more interesting when he actually gets his hands on the gemometry rather than having to use “standard” Time frames.

Great to see his name on a bike again, always wanted a Proped.

Ridely are cross, if you can’t go fast on one of those then there’s no hope 😀

Canti’s are fine for racing, certain courses like CrossVegas are more suited to disks, whilst I wouldn’t expect to see any pro’s on disks at the world’s this season.

Ridely do have a unique view on geometry though, so good you got to sit on one, a 100m stem is no issue on a cross bike

Wow that was some racing in that last leg.

    Fantastic viewing on YouTube.

Massive fan of Ben but wanted NZ to win from the start, now conflicted.

    But who decides

Tour magazine from Germany do, as soon as people accept this then we’ll have a lot less threads on here. 😀

We just need them to decide which tyres/wheel size are best then we’re done.

Side step IMO, it would be different but maybe not better, and even maybe worse.

The CAAD models are very good and more than a match for lower to middle carbon frames.

New wheels, the answer is nearly always new wheels. Although how you get those on C2W I don’t know.

It’s an Ardennes classic, just need 8 degrees and horizontal rain.

Its not purely to do with UCI points, but also within the UCI areas, e.g Europe, America, Asia, etc:
    “The top-5 American nations qualify:
The 5 first nations of the classification by nation of the UCI America Tour on 15 August 2013 excluding the nations qualifying via the UCI WorldTour classification: the 1st and 2nd nations qualifying can enter 9 riders, with 6 to start (rank 1); the 3rd, 4th and 5th nations can enter 5 riders, with 3 to start (rank 2).”

Colombia has already qualified via the WorldTour, so is omitted from the America Tour nations ranking for this purpose. That gives the United States and Venezuela 6 riders, while Brazil, Mexico and Canada each get 3 spots. ”

I’d imagine Dan will sit in on the GB team for as long as possible, if he’s anywhere near his L-B-L form then it should be interesting.

Bert’s not racing? Pity as you say.

Love to see Stannard have a dig like he did at MSR

Dan Martin would be my guess.

Given that very limited information it sounds too small. someone who’s 6ft and 34″ leg would most likely be suited to a large.

You’ll end up with a lot of post showing anyway as its a 29er with racing geometry.

Yeah I had the same thing.

Cracked the face of my 500 whilst taking a tumble out running, replacement was 68 quid for a new one.

Great service, I’ll get another Garmin because of it.

Excellent comment Shred, I did Downward Spiral in the week and the perceived effort for intervals one and two were through the roof compared to the actual power output.

    TrainerRoad is bloody great!

Started using it a few weeks ago, very impressive bit of software, the integration with Sufferfest, (and the connection to the OP), the suggested and real time power output levels based on your own FTP is taking training to the next level.

Yes there are on screen prompts.

It works on perceived effort, 10/10 all out sprint, 5/10 2 hour ride pace, that kinda thing.

It can take a while to get to know your level if your not that experienced in this type of measurement.

Angles and Hunted are two of the kinder ones, focusing on threshold work rather than pure intensity.

In winter then its the winter bike with MW80 SPD boots.

If its just cold then thermal overshoes and normal Sidi road shoes on the summer bike.

Rollers, TrainerRoad, power meter of choice, and Sufferfest, away you go.

Tempted to try one of the TrainerRoad training plans after the cross season closes down in a few months time

4 hours of techincal singletrack Saturday followed by cyclocross training/racing Sunday.

    Great weekend bikewise.

    Children’s MTB School tonight.

you are always going to be able to stretch your effort more under lab conditions

Wrong, classic example of that is Cav, his numbers are fairly average, (for a world class track/road sprinter), in a lab, but outside with a number on, well….

My max cycling is less than it is running.

First round of the Göteborg series, “introcross” today, strong line up of current, past, and most certainly future national champions.

Group warm up and drills for 45 minutes followed by one 20 minute race then a 15 minute race.

10th then 8th place and pair of lovely orange Pedro’s tyre levers for my efforts.

Didn’t roll my newly glued tub either, which is a bonus.

    The season has started!

Speed/power is quickest to go, normally a week to two without training will reduce these levels.

Endurance is slower, and as stated is more or less related to how much time you have spent building it.

The Ambit2 looks very nice, but as stated make sure you the 2 not the one as the software support looks very poor for the original.

Plenty of resistance for interval training.

Either get the small metal rollers without of the Elite Parabolic with, (which I’ve got). There is plenty of resistance there, I’ve managed over 800watts on my rollers and its technique and ability to stay on them more than resistance that is the limiting factor.

PlantX have a couple of metal ones for under a £150 which I guess is as cheap as they come.

I’ve got a set of the Elite plastic ones, which are perfectly fine if, well, a little too plastic.

Second hand would be the cheapest, as long as they are good nick then they’d work fine for CX warmups.

I’ve never had an issue with my PowerTap and I’ve even raced it in CX once just to get the numbers.

Took my boys XC racing in the locally held round of the national cup, great weather, great fun, only gutted I couldn’t race as well.

Did however manage a solid two hour all in blast on the road bike and an interval session on the rollers this weekend.
