If I were doing 3 one hour Sufferfest sessions then two would be threshold based and one working on shorter intervals.

So Angels, The Hunted, Hell hath no Fury, Fight Club for threshold,

Downward Spiral, Revolver, A Dark Place for intervals.

OK, no racing this weekend so time to attack the interior walls and ceiling with 10 litres of base paint. White, white, and more white.

    Bedroom:

    Entrance:

Amazing just how much paint new wood absorbs, the whole tin went in under 8 hours of work, with about 4sqm left to do, so I’ll need to find a supplier tomorrow to finish things off. Thinking of leaving the ceiling with just the undercoat as I quite like the semi transparent finish.

I’d recommend Sportful, they own Castelli, (as I understand it), use the same fabrics, but are slightly cheaper.

Our club kit is made by them and as a result I’ve picked up a few of their pieces and have been impressed by the fit and function.

I have the display at the bottom of the screen, OK not really a “feature”, but the auto start/stop is great as I can’t reach my laptop whilst on the rollers.

The Sufferfest video integration is excellent though, (providing you use the matching session profile to video).

I was going to start with the traditional base programme then use the cyclocross one, but I’m open to suggestions.

IMO a lot depends on your current level of fitness and training background. If you’re new to all of this then a base program would most likely be very beneficial in building form and getting time in on the bike, if you’re already in good shape and can take high intensity training then a time crunched plan could be just the thing.

However I’d say that unless you are looking at racing as your main goal then sticking to a plan will in most cases remove the “fun” from cycling.

Did Starr King last night which is 3*15 sweet spot, felt quite good so think that 3*20 as mentioned above is doable.

Watched the world cup cross races during the session, such a cool feature!

    OK another update.

Luckily the storm faded out quite a bit before it hit/tickled us, which meant nothing bad happened to the semi exposed exterior.

This week the outer walls are being set in place, especially nice is the fact that they are already painted with one layer of under coat meaning we don’t have to rush to do it and can wait until spring.

The inner walls are finished, as is the ceiling, which does mean that I’ll be painting this weekend, (beautifully timed as the there are no national cross races taking place!).

So it’s off to decide upon and buy paint.

Next the roof needs to be set in place, as well as the windows and door, then its time to start on the interior.

Open tubulars are made in the same way as tubs but are clincher in fit, thus they need a tube, they are not however clinchers as they do not go through the vulcanization process that clinchers do during manufacturing, and as a results normally have a higher TPI.

    Not marketing speak.

    Some great input here.

At the moment I’m using TrainerRoad for focused sessions during the cross season, however it will be interesting to see how my coaches training plan can also utilise the software from Dec onwards.

3rd place today, first podium in the national cup.

Rounding up a frantic weekend away, 600km of driving, the whole family in the car plus bike and spare wheels, rushing to the cinema yesterday after the race and a birthday party today.

Still, took home a load of gels and some MuckOff brushes and liquids yesterday and a nice winter training top today, and more importantly loads of cup points 8)

5th place today in the south of Sweden’s double header.

Super wet heavy grass for 90% of the lap, one very long very steep run up, one short, some stairs, and plenty of off camber turns. Love it, bring on tomorrow.

I’m tempted to rob your design for my back yard (but a little smaller)

I presume it’s strong enough for the amount of snow you get?

What’s the expected lifespan of the wooden building? And what’s the maintenance routine?

Feel free, PM me and I’ll send you the files I’ve got.

The roof will have a ribbed roof mounted in a week or so from clix. The structural design has been approved for strength.

We’ll paint the house using an undercoat and two top coats. This should last 10-12 years before it needs doing again. If any of the wood does go bad then we’ll simply replace that single panel.

Tape works well on road tubs as the pressure helps keep them in place and the process is cleaner than using glue. Hovwever tape adds a thick layer which in turn makes the tub sit higher on the rim, this is not desirable for cross where low pressures are used.

Why use tubs, performance mainly, but also ’cause its kinda cool.

you could use an air exchange\heat recovery unit

That’s what we are planning on using, not sure of the actual model yet but most likely something from Mitsubishi:

They’ll be a fan in the bathroom, an extractor fan over the hob, and an opening window in the bedroom and bathroom.

So hopefully this and the fact the heating is based around moving air around the space will mean it won’t be too smelly.

    Good question though.

I’ve never used tape and it’s not really necessary to wait 24 hours between layers, IMO.

New rims will need two layers of glue, make sure you get the nipple holes filled well.

I also tape the braking surface as it stops any odd bits of glue getting on them, especially when mounting.

Tufo tubs take a huge amount of glue initially, so again two layers, then glue, but they do take a bit of stretching.

Its not really that hard a process.

    Right, time for an update.

I’ve been away on business all week so was glad to see a lot progress has been made in the meantime.

The electrician has been and wired the house so we have wall sockets and lighting fittings:

    We have internal walls:

And we have an internal ceiling:

Lots of painting to do in the near future.

Still on the time plan, still within budget, although the kitchen might mean we creep nearer the upper limit regarding cost.

They seem to be “standard” for carbon rims, but I’ve never found them that much better on normal alloy ones.

I’ve got the 26 XC wheels/hubs, very impressed, got them serviced in the middle of the season this year and it was very easy and pretty cheap to do considering there are 6 roller bearings in the rear hub.

I run X0 Gripshift, 1 * 10, think its brilliant, use it for XC racing and find it quicker than the XT shifters it replaced.

Not had an issue with brake placement.

Assuming 26″ wheels if its a Fisher.

ActionSports.de was pretty much the standard answer before the influx of China produced carbon fibre wheels hit the market.

I run American Classic as race wheels, bang on 1500 and way less than 700 quid, in fact for that budget you could get a training pair and a racing pair!

Depends on how well you glued them 😀

I kept mine in the house from last season and they were perfect this autumn, unfortunately I punctured both of them in the space of two weeks so ended up removing them and putting on new ones.

However they were glued so well I had real problems getting them off, meaning I would have been fine using them one more season without problems.

Word and CRM applications are fundamentally “standard” and are not customized by people, (generalization).

However your production systems, product development, internal workflows are not standard, therefore applications needed to support them are developed, either from scratch or off the shelf, to meet your needs.

The “cheapest” way to do this is place all the logic on a central server and use browsers to access this functionality, rather than having expensive clients on the desktop.

Over simplistic, but not a million miles away.

What are the issues (in plain English, please) with running newer browsers?

backwards compatibility, e.g. things that currently work in browser v1 do not work, or partly work, in v1.x

Java was touted as solving this, it didn’t. Nor has anything else.
