OK, I’ve been wondering what their “over and above” replacement policy was going to be.

Simply handing out 2015 one’s seems a little too easy as well as very late for an issue that was raised 6+ months ago.

I was thinking that the secondhand BB7 market would be flooded when you guys got your new stuff.

Interesting, so did you get BB7’s as a replacement when you handed in the dodgy ones?

Is CX really that popular that it warrants a summer series?

Part of the joy for me is the intensity of the season due to its short time span. As well as mud, rain, etc…

File treads for this time of year, something from Vittoria or Challenge should work a treat.

Had an excellent expereince with Garmin after I cracked the screen on my 500 after a crash, (whilst running not riding!).

Logged the case in their site, paid the standard fee, sent the broken one off, and received a new one back a week later.

    Nice write up mboy, thanks.

So would you say that the ff29 slightly more xc orientated? I love the look of the ti, but I have a niggle that the head tube looks high on them.

Must pop in when I’m back in Brighton over the summer.

Yeah seem to shock himself a bit, nice styling off a small hump all things considered!

Either or neither, there are too many variables to give a definitive answer. Whatever works for you.

There are in theory a number of advantages in bi-amp setups, and even using different amps per channel and/or speaker.

Having done this the only clear advantage I got was by running an active crossover and using a class D amp for the bass and a valve amp for the tweeter, however there is a fair amount of faff involved in removing the speakers internal crossovers from the equation and then tuning an active one.

CD->Integrated->Speakers these days, so much simpler.

But the magnetic field would conflict with my power balance bracelet……

I’ve never managed to complete Angles using TrainerRoad’s FTP values, it’s the only Sufferfest film I can’t do.

Good to see an improvement dirtyrider, anything over 4W/kg is pretty decent if you’ve a job/family IMO.

Look at the good for age numbers, (a little easier than 2:10):
    Age 18 – 40 sub 3:05
    Age 41 – 49 sub 3:15
    Age 50 -59 sub 3:20
    Age 60 – 64 sub 3:45
    Age 65 – 69 sub 4:00

I hadn’t appreciated at the time how varying the pay levels were in the UK, and consequently how grossly overpaid I was.

It does seem to be a British thing when it comes to money.

I’ve been very surprised how open people are over here when it comes to wages and what they/you paid for your house etc.

One thing I will say is that there seems to be a lot wider wage ranges in the UK than in Sweden, which is maybe why people are more open about it.

Very nice Robdob, very nice indeed. Especially the Flite saddle, thumbies, and gumwalls, exactly what I had on my Explosif.

Mrblobby, is Iron War a good read?

I remember reading an article about that race in 220 or something similar in around the mid 90’s then bumping into Dave Scott at Club La Santa a few weeks later.

I’m racing 1*10, like you I have a couple of chainrings that I can switch to match the course.

11-36 is more than enough for racing and days out on all but the most extreme hills, (in which case my bike is most likely more unsuitable than the actual gearing).

Would I go 11 speed, maybe if it wasn’t to cost prohibitive, but it’s certainly not on my list of things to upgrade anytime soon.

I’ve got a Toyota Aygo, MTB fits in the back with the seats down, but I use a Thule rack most of the time, perfect small car IMO

120mm fork on a racing orientated XC 29er?

I ran my first marathon last year and am seriously thinking about doing an ultra next year.

Nothinig planned this year as its XC racing that’s on the agenda, but running once a week to keep the legs ticking over.

Sounds odd to me, it should just click back, at least my Athena ones do.

It may be an “escape” shifter, depending on the model year, that enables you to shift across multiple cogs in one go.

The 3T Doric ones are lovely and come in 400 lengths, however they are inline.

Managed an average 150KM a week so far this year, all planned sessions, and nothing longer than 2.5 hours so far.

Seems to be working as I’m flying at the moment, have a block of longer distnace sessions planned then let the racing begin!

Reading the 7-11 story at the moment, (excellent book BTW), it states that they covered themselves with Vaseline before the famous Giro stage up Gavia, when Hampsten came in second, to stave off the cold.

It was only in the final 50KM that they stripped off, most riders had layers and layers on for the first 6 hours.

Raced them last year and this, I’m a big fan of them, (also of Vittoria, the parent company, for road use).

Used the Aka, Saguaro, and Mexcal. All tubeless, some with TNT, some not, no issues so far.

Sorry no experience of either of the ones you’ve mentioned.

There’s nothing wrong with just using Sufferfest films, although I’d want to vary them a lot more than just the three you have.

If you’re not training to race and just to have a better fitness level for the summer then IMO a heart rate monitor is worthless and you’d be better off spending the cash on more Sufferfest films.

I love TrainerRoad with/without Sufferfest and thoroughly recommend it for serious fitness gains, but it comes with a cost if you don’t have the equipment to begin with.

Looks stunning in the red, now available in black for disk brakes.

Worth it for high level racing, hmmm, maybe not, better off buying two frames and having a pit bike. All other scenarios, then yes IMO.

A team mate had the Bont’s on at the weekend. Said they were great but needed a good beating before they felt good, and that off the bike they were harsh, which is most likely why he’s having a hard time shifting them in his shop.

Me, Sidi every time, road, XC, CX, great shoes that fit my feet.

I’ve used Creation twice, excellent service and good pricing.

I got the 5, code SNZF17J1, which is the Japanese made one. I also have the black/grey nato strap on it as pictured above.

One thing I liked about the film was Bruyneel’s amazing language ability!

The way he switches from English, to Spanish, to French, whilst driving in a very stresful situation, also whilst screaming at people on both the phone and the team radios was really impressive
