In a podcast interview with Brailsford pre-tour, he was saying it was time for Geraint to work on his climbing and become a GC guy. Looking forward to that – he’s always been one of my fav riders.

Interesting, yet more over emphasis on stage races and not one day classics from Sky? sad to see

They’ll be so so much criticism for having pave on a tour stage, but this is just fantastic sport.

Great to see something other than mountains and time trials making an impact. Bring on the crosswinds next!

He’s in my fantasy team for this stage today.

Run my rear one at 1.8 bar or 26psi for XC racing and a little higher for general riding and marathon racing

It’ll be shown on Eurosport in most, if not all, countries, both live and highlights packages.

What chainset/ring is that on the first 29er?

Odd one that, took long enough for it to be analysed, (Feb -> Jul), although good it wasn’t released before both the A and B samples were tested.

    Pity, seemed a nice guy.

The Kinesis GT is looking very good as it meets the criteria except the horizontal top tube.

Hoping to find a dealer in the Brighton area that has one in that I can look at when I’m back in the UK next week.

Its worth watching for the in car footage of Bruyneel when Bert attacks on the Colombière.

It sounds like your bigger quandry is what kind of bike you actually want

    Very astute sir.

I want a shiny racing orientated frame that fits 28 tyres with a horizontal top tube. I don’t particularly want to run deep drop brakes. It would be a bonus if I could add guards to it, without or without fittings.

Those carbon guards are a thing of beauty.

Thanks, the geometry is bit of an issue too, Engima do the beautiful Esprit without mounts or the still nice but less racey Etape with them.

Get two, a lower spec carbon Giant for strapping a number too, and an Enigma or something similar for Sunday riding.

Price cap seems to be more suited to BMC’s budget than FDJ’s, which is a bit of a pity.

Was Kreuziger riding for Riis two years ago? Massive boost to Sky anyway.

great idea, I’ll look into this.

    Are wiggins and kreuziger available?

My PT died this year, directly after the winter indoor season.

Still gives out readings that are correct, but will suddenly spike or drop off completely. Needs to be looked at by a PT specialist as the LBS can’t do anything.

    Contacts anyone?

Some good suggestions up there, I can add:
    Charly Wegelius – Domestique
Sean Yates – It’s All About the Bike

As a couple of excellent reads

Stages doesn’t work with carbon cranks, so that only leaves Campy Athena as an option for 11sp.

Stages would be my choice though, especially as Sky are now them and this will hopefully lead to better development etc

About the same feeling as switching to a comfier frame

    at a somewhat lower cost!

Right, off to purchase and try out some latex tubes.

Another recent convert to Vitoria Open Corsa CX’s here, 23mm as my bike cannot fit a larger tyre at the back.

Interested to know what difference to latex tubes make as I’ve got normal ones in at the moment.

It can read ANT+ HR belts, powertaps etc, but still uses its own ANT with Sunnto stuff, meaning you can use your Garmin HR stap with your Ambit but not the otherway round

I got an Ambit2s a few weeks ago, lovely bit of kit, has worked fantastically well for running and cycling so far. Very configurable so you can get the data you want on the various screens. Seems to be more accurate than my Garmin 500 in the forests.

The only downside is the MovesCount software, but at least that integrates with Strava now.
