For racing unquestionably, for anything else most likely not.

Go tubeless would be my answer to your question.

some of those Chinese carbon frames look remarkably similar.

Can’t say I’ve seen any with the rear stays like those in the picture above. Any links?

Stage 12, around in circles, honours to team Cheshire Alps, DS Kai, with 257 points.

Overall JW’s team Vuelta a Mann are looking good on 3136 points, or 160th in the real overall, (even more impressive is that the team still has two guys on zero points!)

Thanks for posting the link, I’m now 90 minutes behind my schedule for the day.

Very very interesting, remarkably tear jerking in places too.

MindManager is very good but not free, provides a good export to SharePoint for making nicer sites.

MindMaple is free and works well. I downloaded a copy to my new laptop before a long flight last week and produced some good results with it.

That course in Stockholm is excellent as it gives no real advantage to the group, so solo cyclists can actually get in a break after the swim and look to maintain a lead. Especially when it was wet like last week.

Stage 8, getting hilly now, team Team Moopi, DS Simon Abbot rides away with the glory by one point over our perpetual leader team Levello, DS TomL.

    Nice work boys.

I ran 3:05 last year off 3 sessions a week and 2 bike sessions.

The major lessons learnt was I that I never ran my long runs with marathon pace intervals. I ran a 1*22, 2*20, and 3*18 mile long runs, all of which were quick but consistent paced, what I should have done is include a few 20 minute bursts of marathon pace in them.

It is doable, it takes committmemnt, it does provide you with a surprisingly good cycling base fitness level

That has to be one steep hill!

Somewhere on a tri forum they’re asking why MTB’ers take so much stuff with them as they’re only cycling round a park made for them and not an actual mountain…..

Stage 7 glory goes to Team Cheese, DS swavis with 456 points.

Overall Team Levello, DS TomL hold on to a 24 point lead over team Viva Vuelta, DS Aidy, who in turn are well over a 100 points clear of Digital epo, DS Crell in third.

A club mate turned up with a Giant TCX Advanced pro.1 for this season, replacing his rather fetching pink Specialized.

The Giant is really, really impressive. It looks stunning in real life, (clearly the most important factor), and rides like a dream.

He’s now racing it in China for the Swedish U23 team in the first UCI race of the new season.

    Want one lots.

On one have just started selling carbon bars. £50ish for 777 wide and 220 grams.

That’s about 100 grams too many for a bar though for someone looking to drop some weight, its also bloody wide for a XC/race bike, however each to their own.

Loosing weight on the tyres is a good call though.

Stage 3 kudos goes again to Team Moopi, DS Simon Abbot, with 365 points.

Overall we have team Levello, DS TomL, leading with 685 points.

I’m now regretting picking riders with rainbow thoughts on their minds rather than Red or Green jerseys…..

There are 10 million of us paying customers, so that’s quite a fair income, however I imagine there is a huge load of investment capital in there as well.

I’m not sure as I’m no longer a hanger on at the shop, anyway isn’t it a bank holiday in the UK today?

Both are owned and run by Kurt and Fred, therefore they should be the same, just depends who is working in which shop.

The software on the actual watch is OK, what annoys people is that the watch is only configurable when connected to the MovesCount software which is web service.

MovesCount has had two major outages in the last 3 weeks, meaning people cannot use their $400 watch, e.g loading new trails for races, accessing their data, configuring a new screen on the watch. And all because Suunto want to force people to use their own MovesCount site as a social network.

If Suunto provided an offline version then all these functions that are on your watch would be available to you.

Just check out the Facebook site for MovesCount for the real vitriol people are spewing.

I do like the watch a lot, and would rate is highly, especially if you’re interested in multi sports. There is a new Ambit3 on the way with bluetooth which is looking to compete with the new Garmin Forerunner.

Congrats to team Dougal and the Blue Cat, DS Buxton, who won todays stage with 113 points.

I’ve got a Suunto Ambit2, and exactly like their Finnish cousins Nokia, its a brilliant bit of hardware seriously let down by software coded by a three year old.

impressive Jet, what swimming/cycling/running background did you have?

    The-Swedish-Chef
    Free Member

Yes from a pure performance standpoint.

However you’ll not be able to borrow a mates front wheel if yours fails, and your bike will no longer fit most roof racks where you attach the front wheel.

He could have picked up good mountain points, and possibly a stage win once he was out of contention for the overall.

On par with other riders rated at 12, no?

Horner is out so time to change your team if you picked him.

Interesting case of the MPCC rules being tighter than the UCI’s.

    More to it than that?……
