    I have had all 3 and all excellent but have just gone back to the 800 just because the mount is better and the battery lasts all day even with the back light on,but for multi-day the oregon will be excellent as like you say you can just pop some battery’s in,if you need a garmin discoverer full uk OS 1:50K map I have one for sale it’s just plug and play so will work on any £45 posted.

    I think it’s a 5mm or a 17mm cone spanner each side then it slips off.

    Planet X al30 here they are excellent they ride a lot nicer than shimano rs20.

    Well it’s bright it’s about the same as the trout but is not quite as wide if it had the trout lens in it would be perfect

    This is around 150g lighter I think but you get 3 hours on full on the 6 pack and 2 on this I will try it next to a 6 pack and a Trout DD later.

    I have one to play with I’ve not tried the auto stuff yet but you can just have it like any other one with the 3 modes or 2 or 4 modes I will have a better play later.

    I have one its looks very nice I got it for some bike packing but I will never get time so it just hangs on my shed wall if anyone wants one its going cheap it was made to fit a 20″ 29er but also fits a 19.5″ scandal

    I will have a 18″ scandal for sale in a few days its a geared black ano frame its got some marks cable rub/chainsuck but still looks good,there is some white steel forks and a fsa headset i will be looking at £160 posted for the frame/forks/headset.

    There’s nothing offroad you need to come Peterborough way for the tracks there’s a load of riders what meet near mine at the end of foxcovet rd between glinton & peakirk on sundays at 8.45.

    Yeh you can rent them my sister in law works there I think they are £50 odd a month so not cheap.

    The only bad bit is on all the forks i have had the carbon steerer is a little to fat so you need to sand it down to get the top 2 bits on the headset on.

    Just put carbon 29er on eBay and there is loads,I have had 5 now for mates & they take 2 ish weeks to turn up had to pay customs on 3 but it’s only £21 so still very cheap.

    They are great frames I had a salsa and 2 on-one carbon 29ers broke all 3 so got one of these £230 china 20″ and it’s been spot on for 5 months now and it rides just the same as the others I had,and a new headset is only $15 posted from x-goods.com

    Take all the kit you have it gets cold standing around nice dry kit each lap if you can.
