There’s a new cotic full sus meant to be released soon, think its a shorter travel version of the rocket. Should have 120mm ish rear travel and designed around 120-140mm forks.

Anyone know if the 1.4 HDI engine (Citroen Nemo) has the same issue? I usually do an oil change ever 6 months / 6000 miles and use good quality full sinthetic oil but should I be dropping the sump and cleaning out the turbo oil feed pipe and gauze? Only done 36000 miles so far but want to avoid potentially expensive turbo problems in the future.

If you want something a bit more luxurious I can recommend the Caddon View guest house in Innerleithen

Road tax is usually higher, I’ve got a citroen nemo van and tax is £215 for the year as it’s classed as a commercial vehicle even if it’s only for private use. The equivalent car based version with the same engine is only £35 as it’s calculated on emissions. Extra security of the van means it’s worth it though and the van is quite a bit cheaper to buy than the car version.

I’ve got a large bfe frame and sektor forks for sale in the classifieds just now

Try wisharts in Kirkcaldy, have always had good service in the past from them.

It’s a bfe frame so should be pretty tough, the plastic shifter would probably come off worse anyway

New bars and stem are a bit lower than the old set up, must admit I didn’t even think about top tube clearance. Might try a higher rise stem but the new set up feels so much better and with 150mm forks the bars are high enough. Really only worried about damaging the frame so will fit some helicopter tape.

My solo air sektors do the same thing, sort of 1-2 mm vertical play when they’re at full height. Stripped them down and seems to be slight movement with the solo air shaft, think it’s something to do with air passing to the negative side. There’s no play in the bushings and they work fine when compressed a bit, but it’s annoying on steep climbs when the forks unweighted and you feel the knocking. No idea how to sort it though

I’ve used the single ring set up for over a year on my trek before swapping the bits over and it’s been ace, hardly ever used the granny or big ring and like the simplicity and extra ground clearance. The grips were a bit of a gamble as I bought them before seeing the frame colour in the flesh, think they suit the bike though.

Brake postion is perfect for one finger braking but not for everyone. Saddle is a charge spoon and grips are ODI from chain reaction.

Cheers for the comments guys, I would agree that its more a soul build on a bfe frame but the soul’s not available in green and is £170 more and not too bothered with the extra weight. I might have to put a proper chainguide on at some point but I’ll run with what i’ve got for the moment, the guys at cycleworld did say i might have problems dropping the chain though. Cant run the bars any lower as the brakes and shifters would hit the top tube.

Ive already dropped the travel to 120mm with spacers but like the idea of being able to quickly change the travel back to 150mm, might speak to loco in the morning

Dammit, just ordered a standard xt shadow rear mech after snapping mine on wednesday. Shadow plus would have been great for my 1×10

I would give hope a phone, I just returned a 6 year old hub that cracked around one of the disc mounts. Even though I had no proof of purchase they replaced the hub shell and fitted new bearings and returned it in just 3 days. Very impressed and will definatly by hope again

whereisthurso, that looks very similar to how mine should look like, only with gold hubs and a reverb seatpost. Is that dundee in the background?

Yeah isn’t that what everyone does? :?

I must agree that the soul would suit my riding style more but i’ll be using my gold hope hubs and bottom bracket and dont think they would go too well with orange

    The-Duke

Have to agree that orange soul looks fab, but i really like the green and the bfe is £170 cheaper

Yeah had to dig a foot deep trench for the armoured cable. Not sure about inspections and planning regs but cant imagine you would need it, or just dont tell anyone !

I used a kit from B&Q when I put power into the shed. The kit includes everything to do it yourself and there’s no need for an electrician as it just plugs into a normal socket in the house with a rcd adapter. Involves a bit of drilling through the walls but easy enough. Will take up to 13 amps so should be ok for your needs. Think it was only £80 ish for the kit.

I did the same on a set of fox forks, managed to fix it with some threaded rod and a nut as luckily there was some undamaged thread further in. Lathered the rod with threadlock and ran it like this for a few years with no issues, part of reason I bought a torque wrench though

Trek fuel ex8, set up 1×10 gearing, sektor fork set at 130 but could go to 150mm, or get them converted to dual position. Thinking that the bfe would make a great bike for shorter rides and maybe get a short travel fs 29er like an anthem when funds allow for longer rides.

The Peebles hydro usually have a mountain bikers special rate for £49 for a single room. Fantastic breakfast and full use of the swimming pool and saunas, not sure about wifi though

Bobby, have you been out with any of the local clubs? I ride with the mukyriderz in Glenrothes and I’m sure the guys would swap bikes with you during a ride, might be a good way to try a few different bikes at the same time. There’s usually a group ride at 9.30 on Sunday from the lomond centre in Glenrothes

I’ve mended a tyre using a needle and some dental floss to stitch it back together and then a tubeless patch on the inside. Been fine ever since even running tubeless

I have the 2009 model that came with 130mm forks. I’ve tried them at 120 and 140mm settings but have now went back to 130. 140 just felt too much for good climbing and made the steering a bit vague. Each to their own though and 140 might work for you, easy enough to do with some spacers. Just check your forks are floats and not F series as I don’t think they can be extended beyond 120mm

Hmmm might be worth the extra after all then, dont need a front shifter coz it’s 1×10, would be used with a M780 rear mech so might be a good idea to get the matching shifter

Thats what i thought, M770 for £23 it is then

Its just very light wear to the anodising so the seal should be a good fit, just want to stop it getting worse and dont really want to shell out for new uppers, think i’ll give them a go as it seems like a cheap fix

I’ve had a nemo for over a year now, gets around 55 mpg on average and over 60 on longer runs. If you accept that’s it’s not a performance vehicle and drive accordingly and it sounds like you want something economical then its ideal. Can get 2 bikes with the front wheels off in the back by putting them against the bulkhead and still leaves plenty of storage space. Only annoying thing is the road tax being £200 instead of £35 for the car version but it’s worth it for the security of not having to leave bikes on the car roof unattended.

Had the same at the weekend, phone call from the bank to say over £1000 had been spent at John Lewis and they tried to take another £450 but the bank stopped that one. Card now cancelled and waiting for a refund, had ordered from crc last week, definatly using paypal from now on

Yeah was planning on using sealant with them, sounds like the bonty’s have a good tight bead and I like the look of the xr2 tyres, not too sure about the specialized at the moment.
