Changing in farming practice has been blamed for the decline of some species, but I suppose everything we do has some sort of impact in populations. Sparrow seem to be vert localised here, we get the occasional one in our garden but you don’t need to walk too far and they’ll be quite a few somewhere else.

We get quite a good mix of birds here so I’ll get the kids to keep their eyes peeled.

Our lad who has learning difficulties had a blue badge up until a couple of years ago, when we were asked whether he could walk more than a certain distance, so he lost it.
He’s not as bad as he was regarding being unsteady on his feet but he will still wander away unless you are next to him. Not always easy with three other kids getting out of the car. Plus the wife. :-)
He’s 12 now and try as I might he couldn’t get the hang of riding a bike until he turned 11. Imagine that. 8O

Like a lot of people I was listening to R1 as a kid but got board with it as I got into 90s dance music. So the only radio I listened to we’re Manchester’s Kiss fm and Stu Allen’s show on Key 103 ( which I could only pick up in the attic, being quite a bit further north from Manchester :-))
Then it was on to daytime R2 or 5 live.
Then I discovered R4. And then 6 music after Radcliffe and Maconie moved from their R2 evening show.
So it’s just R4 and 6 music now. Oh and R1 on Friday evening for some banging tunes.

I didn’t know this. What a very refreshing thing to read rather than the usual stories where we treated like scum.

I’m just a decorater so what do I know. :-)
The plasterers I’ve worked with have just bonded and skimmed. Of course, every job’s different.

Skim it. Any plasterer who suggest over boarding is taking the piss.

Anyone remember Underwurlde? It seemed to go on forever.
Still remember the excitement buying it from W H Smith in Burnley. :-)

awesome in spain, here nowhere near as good.

Erm. Don’t we get Spanish/Greek olives here?. Or are they some weird Scottish grown ones?

Or is it a bit like the wine you loved around the Mediterranean and tastes manky back home? :-)

The Co-op used to do root vegetable snacks. Thought they were crisps till I ate one. Bloody awful. :x

You might even use a minute of your 45 minute morning tea break or your two hour long lunch break.

Tea break? Lunch break? What’s them? :-)
I suppose it depends on the trade and whether it’s practical to have/want your phone somewhere you to check every so often.
Just trying to give a reason as to why trades people don’t always get to you straight away.
But yeah, some are just rubbish like any other profession.

Yeah newrobdob, that’s fair enough. It’s bloody annoying when you can’t get in touch with someone. Especially when deadlines or money are involved. It’s the same on both sides. I was just trying to point out that we can be a bit slow in getting in touch. Especially if they are a one man band.

30 seconds to send a text.

Maybe but you’ve to remember that we’re working, which doesn’t involve sitting in front of a computer or walking around staring at your phone.*
So you either forget or put it off till later when you get home at daft o’clock.

*Yes. I realize I’m pissing about on the internet. :-)

I’m just going through another claim after a letter from Barclays telling me that I’d a loan which I had totally forgotten about. I’ve some details from bank statements so I’ll fire off a claim form and see how it goes.
I tried claiming PPI for a couple of smallish loans with Alliance and Leicester I took out around 1998/2004. It was all done through the post and over the phone when I was told that I couldn’t have it unless I bought their PPI, even after I said I’ll get my own insurance.
    Got sod all.
    Good luck.

I’ve just done the wall below the the dado rail in our hallway in oil eggshell. Much nicer finish and very hard wearing. You wouldn’t want to do whole walls in it though. Bloody stinks.
As above Dulux Diamond stuff is very good. I did our hall, stairs and landing woodwork in non trade Dulux water based satin and is absolutely rubbish. Sticky to touch and gets dirty very quickly.

Depends on the length of your limbs as well. I’m 5′ 11 and I’ve a mrk2 Large Soul with a very old fashioned 100mm stem and no way do I feel too stretched out. Seat’s all the way back too.

I had a similar problem with a new KMC chain. The joining link wouldn’t sit on the ring properly. Seems to have worn together now though.

Not a doctor\dentist type but I knew someone with very similar symptoms. Like you, they were backwards and forwards to the dentist/doctor having X Ray. Eventually it turned out to be trygeminal neuralgia. She was prescribed something to ease it and it gradually went away.
    Did I mention that I’m not a doctor/dentist type?
