How the hell have we got to page 5 without anyone mentioning Elvis Costello?

Morso Squirrel gets my vote and never burn green wood, even ash, it’ll do your chimney no good and you’ll lose half the heat evaporating off the water.

Have a chat with this guy, he can make whatever you want for considerably less than 200 quid http://www.steveostraps.com

I swap between the AA and RAC every year. Do it via Quidco and get £40 cash back as well as the introductory rate.

A diesel pump that doesn’t deposit at least 2 drops of diesel on the forecourt when you pull it out of the nozzle.

Tae kwon do. Two people in huge amounts of padding kicking each other for 10 minutes and then one of them mysteriously wins.

Don’t use Gluphosate, it’s not a patio cleaner. Go to your local garden centre and buy some ‘Algon’. Spay it on (or use a watering can if you must and just leave it. No scrubbing needed. It’ll get rid of the algae and stop it coming back for the rest of the year.

DPD head and shoulders above the rest. I wasn’t in the least bit surprised when Shitty Link went bust.

We get Blaklader stuff at work and tbh I’m not impressed with it. I’ve had 2 different trousers and the pocket linings wore out within a few months. The black pair I had faded to grey very quickly too. Might start buying my own Snickers ones.

Caffeine really makes my acid reflux worse. I have decaf teabags at home and limit coffee consumption to a couple of cups a day. I find Boots own brand heartburn relief tablets work well when I’ve had too much coffee or red wine.

I don’t think it’s possible to change it and I agree, it’s a pain to have to keep changing it back to where you want it (I mostly use ‘newly listed’ and never use ‘best match’ – how does it decide what’s best match anyway?

Luckily I have the option to work bank hols and take time off later on. Living in the Lakes it’s like being under siege sometimes on a bank holiday.

I recently bought an unused Halfords Professional ½” drive one off a guy on eBay for about 50 squids. Adjusts easily and quickly and seems well made. It replaces a Norbar one I had for about 20 years and I only replaced because I took it apart and lost the tiny pawl spring in the sawdust on my shed floor

One of the McGard locking nuts on my car completely sheared off last week under very light pressure. Fortunately there was enough of the nut left on that I could bang on an 18mm socket and get it off (ruined the socket though). I’ve replaced them all with standard nuts and won’t be buying any more lockers. Good job it happened when I was at home and not at the side of the road in the dark.

My whippet has been on Naturediet since she was a pup and she’s now a sprightly 11 ½. I wouldn’t feed that dry ‘kibble’ shit if it was free.

When the engine on my 3 year old Subaru Legacy diesel gave up (due to a failed main crankshaft bearing) Subaru UK initially wouldn’t cough up because the service history wasn’t spot on. But when my dealer went to Subaru Japan they provided a new engine and the dealer paid for the fitting. It was a known problem with the early Subaru diesels and I had only bought the car 3 days earlier though!

I really feel for you mate, I’ve been through it and wouldn’t want to do it again. My advice would be try to keep it as civil as possible between the two of you, the more you fight the more money you end up giving away to solicitors.
There is light at the end of the tunnel even though it doesn’t seem like it now. Talk to your friends and family, it’s really hard to do at first but it helps a lot. Good luck.
