Authenticity (sic) backed by the Dirty Digger – the Establishment circles in

if you’re giving us the cryptic crossword clues, any chance you could let us know how many letters the answer is? (oh, and if you’ve got any letters in there already). Ta.

Binners is getting to the point of it, it’s an excuse for middle-class whiny cockbags to act superior. You know the sort of ponces, graphic designers who say they love Greggs (in an ironic way of course), like 6 Music and spend their time doing sickeningly twee things like designing t-shirts for their gang of cycling mates. They should leave pubs for good old salt of the earth types who’d deck you if you asked them not to blow cancer in your face and then try and drown you in Carlsberg.

Cheers everyone, I like the look of the Lamy 2000, so will try one at my LFPS (local fountain pen shop). But some of the others linked look nice too. Maybe I need more than one. or two. Or three…..

I’ve got an incredibly good eye for design/style/aesthetics. The key to a best looking bike is down to dimensions/sizes and balance.

Then it comes down to purpose and functionality. It’s got to be made for a specific job; no compromises.

DT’s bike, purpose: hook, line, and sinker transport.

Nah it’s alright Cranberry I thought it was quite a funny comment!

Thanks for all the suggestions, budget is set as it’s a gift from family to me.

I’ll probably leave it in the house but interested in some of the less pricey options as “everyday”.

Thanks, more suggestions to look at. there’s a pretty good stationers near me so I’m planning on trying a few, but it’s good to go with some ideas.

Anyway, I will withhold my pudding as punishment.
    Are you a judge?

Shouldn’t it be something about pulling and pudding? Anyway, unlike some judges I have an idea what “acceptable” use might be in an IT policy at work!

Sorry Cranberry, pre-empting the “why do you want a fountain pen you ponce” responses I’d expect from bits of STW. Didn’t expect to get pulled up on it first post though. Should have added some smilies? Anyway, I will withhold my pudding as punishment.

Any particluar Parker Al? Hadn’t thought about second hand.

Will also look at Pilot on cultpens, ta Stuart.

Try being the sweeper at a Parkrun I regularly sweep up 42min 5km “runners “They are in no danger of 12min pace

Well with that kind of “support” I suppose there’s no danger of them wanting to try and run faster, not surprised they drop out. Though looking at the BBC headlines maybe you’re doing them a favour then by not getting them to run quicker?

I thought the idea of Parkrun was to encourage people who were a bit wary of running clubs, but can see now it’s a way of weeding out joggers rather than runners.

People on here who like Top Gear seem really offended if you don’t like it.

Always amazes me a program aimed at middle-aged middle-England middle class whiny cockbags is so popular on STW. Can’t think why.

    +1, I don’t reckon it’s a lifestyle choice or a great laugh TBH.

You probably need to buy some shoes that are a bit too small, they’ll be more chuckable and responsive.

by the time the ‘WOOHOO!’ comes in I’m usually lying in a bush and swearing, which spoils the effect.

Oh, BTW Mol I think you’d be better off focusing on midges (nylon tent with an inner is much better than a single layer cotton one there) rather than ASBO breaking hedgehogs or whatever it was.

FOR ****’S SAKE THIS IS **** RIDICULOUS

All I said was, if you have a tent without a sewn in groundsheet, animals can sometimes get in, because this happened to me. That’s it.

You can say you don’t believe me, fine, whatever, I don’t really give a shit.

Yep, definitely looks like you don’t give a shit

Wow, didn’t expect this many responses. And feel especially honoured to receive the wisdom and advice of hora.

I’m questioning if I did the right thing after all after his input.

    Yeah, photos aren’t happening.

Despite a spot of google stalking on the way home.

Anyway, Scottish lasses are loons IME, but stil, what if’s and that.

I am a middle aged bloke BTW, not a teenager as you might have thought from these posts. So appreciate the consequences of my actions.

And I’m still desperate to find out who CountZero actually finds funny.

    – judging from his posts on here I’d say no-one as he doesn’t seem to have ANY sense of humour.

Molgrips, I disagree with you about Starbucks, I always find it tastes a bit burnt. Not a coffee snob either, quite happy with Costa etc, even Maccy D’s is acceptable.

This is based on normal coffee BTW, filter or americano.

Oh and more seriously I reckon the majority of the Waitrose free drinkers are pensioners and that, and probably not going to be spending much money in local cafes anyway.

You could say they took an original idea, and improved it, just used it for inspiration.

It’s not like they’ve made a business out of “copying” the ideas and “improving” them, dunno – something like sticking expensive hub gears in folding bikes say?
