The guy I bought it off had weighed the frame too and said it was 4.7lbs… I doubted his scales so I checked and mine said 4.8ish??

So I’m quite convinced that they are a little lighter than advertised.

I think the Rebas help the overall weight a lot, I thought the box was empty when they arrived!! 😆

I really doubted the scales, but I weighed the gf’s Scott Scale and it came in just over 30lbs.

I weighed the frame before building it and it came in around 4.8lbs…

    I ride 1×10. 32 & 11-36.

If there’s something so steep I’d need a smaller chainring, I think I’d struggle to keep the front wheel on the ground…or wheelie up the hill like a chav!

Cheers for the positive comments guys! 🙂

The seat does look a bit like it’s taking off…it’s a new post and I built it on a stand so didn’t pay much attention to the seat angle, although I don’t get on with them completely flat.

Chain stays in place with a Zee clutch mech and hopes & dreams at the minute. I’m getting a lot of derailment from the top, so I have a JumpStop on the way and need to find a nice subtle looking bash.

Nice Soul penguinni, those bars look like they’re off a beach cruiser 😉 I’m guessing you’re pretty tall?

Paul, not sure how to check your profile…I’d be interested at that price if you could get it posted tomorrow?

What length stem do you have on your Marin and do you ever feel too cramped when pedalling uphill or hit your knees on the bars? An XS is only 19mm shorter than a small.

50mm, and I never hit my knees..even with pads on. It doesn’t feel cramped, if anything I’d like it the same length with just more frame clearance.

toys19 ex of this parish has an xs, he’s tiny though at 5.5 or something. If you are in Devon I expect toys might let you have a go on his.

Can I ask why do you think the xs would be good and not the s?

I’m in Notts, so it’s a bit of a trek! I think I’m swaying towards the XS more because my current frame is a 16″, although I’m sure the geometry would be so different it wouldn’t be a fair comparison!

Firstly…is there an ‘end of season’??

Secondly, I think you’ve done a great job of protecting everything…so she should be grateful and go fetch you beers if anything. 😉

This is what my kitchen looked like last weekend after a muddy ride, the g/f’s only complaint was that I was only cleaning my bike and not hers too!! 😆

’05 Wildcat with 120mm Reba RLTs, 50mm stem, KoreKCDs and an XT 1×9 setup…I’m desperate to change to a nice small steel frame, so it’s nice to see what others are running.

Coming from a BMX background I couldn’t imagine riding anything technical off road clipped in. Not being able to quickly dab a foot if I misjudge a line would completely mess with my head.

I’m sticking with my Vans Half Cabs for now, and leaving the SPDs on my road bike!!

If mine explodes or melts, I’ll just chalk off the £30 it cost me to experience…

Yep. Got this email too. Going to send it back for a refund as i have it mounted on helmet and dont want melted plastic running down my forehead!

I think you should be more worried about the battery pack exploding in between your legs!! 😉

As Trimix says, I find thicker lubes/oil causes the chain to build up a layer of gunk and need degreasing.

I tend to use GT85 or a Teflon based water displacer/lube; spray the chain & moving parts, wipe/brush clean and then reapply a layer of lube to the chain.

I use fairly inexpensive chains and replace them regularly.
