I wouldn’t ever use the Bible as a good source of values or principles – it supports Slavery:

    Exodus 21:
‘If you buy a Hebrew servant, he is to serve you for six years. But in the seventh year, he shall go free, without paying anything. 3 If he comes alone, he is to go free alone; but if he has a wife when he comes, she is to go with him. 4 If his master gives him a wife and she bears him sons or daughters, the woman and her children shall belong to her master, and only the man shall go free.’

Are presents a myth as well?

The giving of presents at this time of year predates the Jesus myth

We used to set off on Friday afternoon and get as far south as possible (Lyon) and stay overnite. Get up at your leisure and be up in the resort before lunch time thus avoiding the afternoon traffic. Get your lift pass sorted and get out on the empty slopes. On the way back set off early (7am) again avoiding the traffic.

I have the Endura Mullets but even though they are (supposed to be) photochromic they don’t go totally clear.

There are 2 grades of Endura photochromic glasses – Light reactive & Light reactive plus. The Light reactive plus are about twice the price (£80+) and twice as good – Mullets are only Light reactive grade.

Where would sell a better quality switch?

In every town there’s an Electrical wholesaler where all the electricians go to buy cable, light fittings, switches, etc. They’re usually located on an industrial estate or some grotty back street.

Stop buying cheap rubbish – go to a proper Electrical wholesaler and get some quality equipment.

Heating is coming on with the hot water and there is a clicking sound from the 3 way valve…….

My 3 way valve is always a bit troublesome this time of year but usually sorts itself out after a week or so – it’s just a bit sticky after not being used over the summer. The problem just might resolve itself if you give some time.

Are they 100% sure it’s broken? – Doctors wanted to put my wrist in plaster for 6 weeks just in case but I said no chance. They relented and sent me for an MRI scan instead which gave me the all clear and I was riding again after a few weeks when the bruising had calmed down.

About 4 years ago I increased the loft insulation

Why has it taken 4 years to have any effect – it’s more likely down to a drop in temperature overnight as tends to happen this time of year.

Read this it might be informative:

Just don’t ever fly long haul – there’s no where worth going to or seeing which is worth the pain of jet lag. If you’re traveling on business then change your job.

What’s £10k – nothing the way house prices are rising currently. It’ll be £350/400k in a few years and you’ll wonder why you were quibbling over such a small amount. If it’s the place you want it’s worth paying the extra.

    Boardman hybrid comp

Looked a this but what puts me off is that it only comes in 3 sizes and the large (21″) is for 5’10″+. At 6’2″ I’m not sure it’ll be bigger enough.

How will the recruiter ever find out? I returned to a previous employer once via a different agent (better daily rate & smaller commission) and the original agent never found out.

the tiler had some personal things happen which delayed the job

Are you sure this is genuine or was he working on another (more lucrative) job? I’ve employed so many tradesman who have to attend funerals out of the blue I’ve stopped believing them. Perhaps the personal problems excuse was the first indication of the forthcoming problems.

The feet are one of the most neglected part of the body and have a massive impact on how the rest of the body functions, ignore the twits who spout negative comments without experiencing the treatment

Do you actually have any real evidence (non anecdotal) that reflexology works – has there been any properly conducted clinical trials showing it works?

Just use your brains – somehow the body is mapped onto your feet – what a load of nonsense. It may have a placebo effect but I wouldn’t take much notice of any of the above anecdotal evidence.

Unless the pads perfectly fit the whole braking surface on the disc you should be able to feel the amount of wear surely.
