Rowing & Sailing are middle class sports but we do well at them – so you can't blame it on that.

flamejob – if those 2 photos are typical of the riding you do no wonder you think Swinley is exciting

flamejob – if you like Swinley you don't what you're talking about. I don't believe you are a mountain biker.

Don't phone up all your mates and tell that you're free for 4 weeks – let's go biking, boozing, etc. I hate this – phone me when you really want to see me not just when you're at a loose end.

All paper currencies continuously devalue – just a different rates. The British Government are in the process of inflating all our debt away by money printing thus de-valuing the pound. Canada doesn't have so much debt and is also has many natural resources which retain their value – so their currency should also retain it's value. In short – get rid of your pounds as soon as you can before they become completely worthless.

Agree with the landlord that you'll pay rent until the property is re-let. You may need a reference from the landlord if you want to rent a place in Edinburgh. The deposit is supposed to cover damages / cleaning costs – not as the last months rent.

They stopped showing it as it was the most boring program on television and nobody was watching it

Transfer the whole lot to a SIPP (Self Investment Personal Pension) and manage it yourself. It's more fun and you can't possibly do a worse job than the so called 'Professional' fund managers.

Had a hire car once that conked out in bad weather – we restrictd the use of the electrics – turned the fan down, rear heated screen off, etc and it ran fine. Maybe the battery capacity just ain't upto the strain.

FBN Bank (UK) is a wholly owned subsidiary of First Bank of Nigeria Plc, with offices in the heart of the City of London.

It's not the Nigerian but the City of London connection that put me off!

Just spoke to Nirvana cycles in Westcott – they recommend parking in Dorking as there is 6 inches of snow and the side roads and all iced up.

Between 5 inches and 6 here in sunny Bolton

My point was that the worst of it is supposed to be in the South East and as far as I can see there's hardly snow at all.

Christmas was originally a pagan mid winter festival that was hijacked by the christians – shame they didn't leave it as it was.

    Junkyard – Evidence

Humanity is the same the world over – no one society is better or worse than any other. I was visiting some friends in Spain a few years ago and they were telling me they was no child abuse in Spain as it was such a family orientated country. I think the statistics are that 80% of child abuse is in the family so I don't think their reasoning was sound.

Don't just single out the Irish Catholic Church – I'm sure it's happening in every country in the world and all religions

I missed something – let's not just blame priests – as we've seen recently I'm sure they're are plenty of female child abusers as well. I know several people who were brought up in Catholic orphanages in the 1950s and to this day dislike Catholic Nuns.

Thanks for that – I'm only doing a 6 bottle kit so I'll probably get one and use the rubber mallet technique.

Corks – do you just put them as they come – dry or do you soften them up so how?

Wine kits – do you use wine kits – if so what's you're favourite brand. I'm doing a Beaverdale Chablis Blush currently.

Just measured my Plant X bike bag 120cm x 90cm x 25cm – it isn't the smallest bike bag but it isn't the largest either. It's quite a tight fit if I recall so I'm not sure I could strap it down to 75cm.

    used RT75 180mm shimano rotors – with a BR-M555 brake?

    teef

Any shimano rotor – not sure you can as the braking surface is smaller on the new rotors. So you'll end up with not all the pad being worn and I'm not sure this will work too well.

I threw my last sleeping bag out – that way I'd never be tempted to sleep on floors and go camping ever again.
