They used a almost “marshmallow type foam and we can feel the differance

Like how – maybe the weather got a bit warmer – I think we need something a bit more scientific than your feelings

Boots are doing a £79 offer for two pairs of prescription sunglasses currently – get two pairs with different tints might be an option.

Whatever you get it’ll end up in a corner gathering dust after a few weeks (days probably). So get a cheap one and that way you won’t of wasted too much money.

Kicking – I was chatting with a swim coach at the local pool a few weeks ago and she said kicking produces almost no forward propulsion and can be a drag. You should minimise it and keep it within your body profile – long distance swimmers hardly kick at all.

What about the potential cost of falling out with your neighbours because the dog is a nuisance barking all the time?

I’ve got a Rolex Submariner and I never wear for any sports as it might get damaged and repairs are very expensive. Stick with the Casio for sporting activity and wear the expensive automatic for showing off – much like Chelsea tractors and offroading.

    Having now found the pump

Undo the large screw on the front and you’ll be able to see if it’s working. A small amount of water may come out – use a towel to mop up. They’re easy to replace yourself – large spanner and you can get a replacement on ebay for £40. Like you say the best way to learn is do it yourself.

Are you sure it’s got anything to do with wearing the contacts lens? Maybe you’ve just got a headache and you’re falsely associating it with the lens.

Avoid being VAT registered at all costs – it’s a record keeping pain and eventually no matter how diligent you are you’ll miss a VAT return deadline and get fined.

Bloke next door to me inherited a property split between three brothers – they initially had a offer for £305K but decided it wasn’t enough. After a year, many arguments and spending £15K on doing the place up they sold it for £325K. So my advice is save yourself a year, a load of arguments, £15K and sell now for whatever you can get.

Unless there is something wrong with the boiler don’t waste your money they don’t do anything. Mate of mine took out a maintenance contract and his first free service cost him £500 when the boiler was working fine.

as for managing things my self I dont even have a clue what a “SIPP” is!

Like I said start educating yourself – even if you don’t manage your money to start off with it’s something you can work towards.

Why not educate yourself about financial matters rather than relying on an ifa? Then manage your money yourself in a SIPP – you’ll probably do just as well as the so called professionals, it’ll be cheaper and you’ll have nobody else to blame.

I reckon Alex Salmond will bankrupt Scotland within 5 years of independence. Spending huge amount on “National Investments” like roads, bridges, education, healthcare, etc – The Scots would be wise to restrain his grandiose schemes by rejecting independence.

Had an electrician fit ours for £30. Peace of mind for not much money.

I studied as an electrician – wouldn’t let most of the others in my class anywhere near my electrics

I’d have it on a separate switch as you don’t want it running every time you go into the bathroom. If it’s got a delayed timer mechanism you’ll need a way of telling whether it’s on or off – I used a shower isolator switch with a LED but I think you can get fans with LEDS.

Wallpaper expands when you apply the paste and how much depends on how long you allow the paste to soak into the paper. So you may need to experiment with soak times to get the replacement paper to fit the gaps.

I have a horible feeling that the render on the outside might be blown and needs replacing, (end terrace house) don’t think I can afford to get this done though sadly!

Wouldn’t cost you anything to remove it – ladder, club hammer, coal chisel

I’ve got a Halstead boiler as well and I’ve been having problems with it for over a year – ignition and overheating cut out. Got a plumber in and all he wanted to do was fit a new boiler so I went on to:

One of the suggestions was to replace the thermistor. While comparing the picture of a thermistor on ebay to mine I discovered it was loose (as well as the overheating thermistor) – tightened it up and problem is now sorted. OK it’s unlikely your thermistors will be loose as well but it’s worth a check.

Don’t go spend crazy – buy yourself a new bike and few other toys but make sure you pay £10,000+ off the mortgage every year as well. Don’t believe all those stories about paying 20% tax or getting everything on expenses…
