Been going every year for 10years and its a great event, awesome course with great weather.

Last year the FFC quietly changed the rules at sign on and created utter chaos.

I wont be going back for a long time because of it

Cloudnine – Once the race starts everyone spreads out over a shortish course – So apart from the winner, no one really knows whos who!

Cross doesn’t really have any one type of body shape that suits, you’ll probably be better than me in thick mud for example, but courses over the season really spread out the advantages.

If anyone is local to the Western League, Bristol, Gloucester, Cheltenham ish – Come along and take a look. The friendliest bunch of racers I’ve ever met. Maybe the more stupid the sport, the smaller the egos? and cross is pretty stupid…

My best moment was the ‘chav scum mother’ ( I believe is the term being used here) who would scream and shout about noise if we were digging in the garden during the weekend. How I laughed when she went into labour with another during a quiet day when I was working from home. As they carried her screaming to the ambulance, I lent from my office window and asked if she wouldnt mind keeping the noise down, all done with a huge grin on my stupid face…

+1 with it being the friendliest racing – I race with the same league as tricky and everyone has been super friendly no matter where you come in the race – As i’ve moved up through the results I would have expected it to become less so, but it just hasn’t.

Perhaps its because its so stupid, no can really take it that serious!

I love it – And I loved it from the first time I rode a race. There are some many different way to beat people and working out which one to use is part of the enjoyment for me. You have to love dishing it out, making other people hurt is the only way to stop them hurting you.

Doesn’t matter if its carrying ‘goods’ or not – RFL is classed as commercial. Unfortunately I have experience in this field :(, doesnt pay to try and weasle…

I had one and did plenty of miles for work – a car is much nicer place to be. Pain to park on the street visiting customers, will only go under a 2m barrier not a 1.9m.

Also you’re restricted to 60on dual carriageway(non motorway) (Def) and 50 on ‘A’ roads (Poss) and plod will pull you on it.

On balance, if you can go for a cheaper(per month) car, thats where my money would go.

Can i throw in resistance rollers – it does mean you can do ‘moderate’ efforts on them. Rollers without resistance will always be just for very low level as they just spin away. I find I can do everything except my anaerobic on rollers and can do 1.5hrs as the motion is very natural.

I was pretty pleased with 4th(3rd), thats a handy result coming from last years top15 results I was having. Although Hengrove does suit me as a course.
