There is no evidence to support the claim that MM was slowing the pace down.

If this we’re true then VR would have lapped faster than JL after the incident. He didn’t

Rossi has finally cracked and he’s believing his own mind games

    From the rule book

When being lapped, it is the responsibility of the
lapped rider to surrender the racing line

Dunno – its a new event, pan flat like a dirt crit apparently. Then a week off then back in with the normal Glos boating lake toward the end of the month. I think its going to be tight at the top with everyone fighting for spots – I certainly want to get involved this year!

At an entry level – and as prep for next ‘season’ – come and ride a few cyclocross races.

The experience is the same but it isn’t as long, its cheaper and you’ll be able to race pretty much every weekend from the start of September all the way through till Christmas. That way you’ll know if you like the intensity and you’ll be able to race your MTB too.

Next XC season will be so much more familiar after that.

When I was a carefree and young i imagined a sandwich filling of such greatness that it actually made ‘the menu’ and remains to this day.

All this talk of Brie and cranberry or bacon and brie is only half a filling…

    I present

Brie, bacon, chicken, cranberry and mayo.

    Thanks,

I’m don’t really know what I’m looking at, I’m assuming HPI would be a brand to look at the other models on.

Any other brands to consider. I think 1/10th or 1/8th scale is much more manageable than that 1/5th. I took it out the box and wasn’t sure if I was getting in it!!

I was out here 3 times a week when it was 5 below and dark with ice all over the place.

Ha – where were you the other 3 nights a week I was out? In my day you went out with coal in your shorts just to make sure you knew you were out!

Take items back and send to ‘big’ suspension place and get sorted.

Ride bike in susnshine and chalk it up to experience OR take to the internetz/small claims court and get your extra monies back,

Nothing to do with the pawls – the ring they sit in, in the hub shell is damaged and is spinning = no drive

From my own personal experience mk3 MR2 – they don’t crash well and almost have no roll over protection. The handling is ‘lively’ as well.

Crutchlow needs to park the ‘hard done by’ nonsense – he’s coming off as a bit of a tool.

Weeksy – I’m by no means a Rossi fan, but to answer your specific point, but he has had to adapt his riding style and attitude to the new bikes and youger riders coming through, so it could be argued its not exactly the same.

When I sold a 70s CB750 all the (decent) interest came from Portugal, I was nervous that it was some well known scam that I had missed. In end the guy paid a fair price for the bike and asked me to deliver at his cost. Cash on delivery. I had visions of 3 days on a classic bike down to Lisbon but it ended up going to his brother in Brighton.

Much nicer to deal with than the british interest all of which tried to threaten me into paying what they wanted to pay.

MSP – I see your point,

The results show Pedrosa as top Honda season after season, when perhaps the bike wasn’t the best in the Championship, The whole 800era was catch up to Yamaha. History has proven Dani to be a very hard man to beat over the course of a season.

Lets not forget, he won back to back 250cc world titles on the ageing Honda perhaps riding it past what it was capable of.

Dani seems like a great guy but how he’s keeping his seat is beyond me.

He keeps his ‘seat’ as he hasn’t finished lower than 4th in the championship since 2007. So he’s consitently fast.

As for the 2015 season, he out qualified current world champ and finished 1 place behind him on a bike that clearly didnt have race pace. Although both Dani and Marc were pedalling it roudn at about the same laptime as the front guys.

So thats how he keeps his seat… Who would you like to replace him with.

Yam boys aint going nowhere now, nor the Ducati guys.

    Cal? Ha!
Scott? Maybe, but dont expect results.

Stoner would be the obvious choice and I would be pleased to see him back.

Surely for that kind of money you could buy a genuine 500gp bike and afford to actually ride it!

Or an RS250 and run it for about a million seasons worth of racing….

Edit – don’t go Here if you want your bank balance to remain intact….

I went about 2 years ago with some friends

Camped in Beausejour, but right at the back in the trees. Still very *ahem lively (blokes driving around on an old dumper with a floor above the bucket and a pub table and chairs on it) but ideal for 6 blokes on a drinking holiday.

If you can secure some space at the Pistonheads (or similar) secured camping then it’ll be much more suitable. You can go an experience the campsites without actaully living in the mayhem!

Great venue to watch during the day, found it easy to secure a spot on Porsche Curves in the evening to enjoy the racing. You’ll walk – Alot – so be prepared to leave your campsite and be gone most of the day

Once you’re french side, its a lovely drive down from Caen and its not that far from Calais. I suffered a TVR for the journey, and even that was acceptable.

Both really enjoy it, its really friendly even tho the mayhem is all around its not compulsory!

    The most sensible advice is.

Dont bother with double tape or fatter tyres

Ride what you have already, the cobbles are already waaaaaaaaay more unbearable than you are already imagining so you’ll be going much much slower than you think.

The height difference between stones can be as much as 3 or 4 inches so NONE of it makes any difference anyway. Seriously. Enjoy it, suffer the cobbles and try not to out think yourself.

When I had the problem? They went back through where I got them from and they were excellent. A replacement set came straight out.

I’ve ridden about 6,500 miles on both pairs and I cant say I have noticed a significant variation in measurement in that time. Before they went back I had about 4months battery life from the original set. My only comment is, it takes af few rides for them to settle in – IE ride, come back and re-torque and then they are good. Bit inconsistent on the first couple of rides but after that pretty rock solid.

I have had Vector since December last year and have found the system to be the most consistent PM I’ve used – Its had its problem and a replacement set but the support was good and new pair have been great. Even batteries have lasted realy well! So i would say the ‘S’ version to be exactly like it

Then have your car repaired for £150 and present the invoice.

Up to me what I do with the cash heck I may treat myself to something nice I don’t have to have the work done!

Yes, perfectly normal. Inflate and carry on.

Its the tiny amount of air held in those shocks at very high pressure. A small air loss will result in a significant pressure change.

Careful of the steep stairs in the old building hotels….

I was once woken from a restful sleep by a loud bang followed by knocking and shouting (in dutch) at my door – I told them to shut up and rolled over and back to sleep. Only to be woken about 30mins later by the paramedics putting the victim on a spine board!

After such a positive response to my opening post – I thought I would share with those who wished me well with Gloucester.

I arrived a few days before the race and took in the sights and surrounding of the area. Its a fantastic part of the America and one I would love to visit ‘properly’. I also got to see the town and watch the racers arrive from all across the country to compete. Race weekend was very warm and as such meant the dust just was incredible. I’m still coughing it up now!

    More Photos[/url]

I was gridded at the back as an international rider and had to fight my way through, sharp elbows and not being bullied really worked. No hollywood ending this time and I finished in the mid pack (125th to 47th/52nd in 45mins hectic minutes). The course was fantastic, really technical with a really high average speed, lots of elevation change and some proper cross sections.

    Even More photos

I would love to go back and perhaps go for longer, and take in more racing. The USA CX scene is really buzzing and the atmosphere they create at the race is everything you expect. Commentators getting animated, beer drinking crowd and the heckling was all in good spirits -(tbh, it made me chuckle) I was really made to feel welcome and USAC went out of their way to help when things didn’t go quite to plan!

I made sure I took a moment during both races to look up and soak in what I was doing and it was awesome. Racing along the seawall in 28degree heat on another continent really will stay with me forever and that will last waay longer than the VISA bill….

Full cable Shimano CX-77 – much finer control in the slow speed and the ability to hit the techy stuff faster and brake later. Bikes a little heavier because of it but I still think it’s an advantage.

Over the season it’ll be interesting to see how if my opinion changes.

Come over for a go on it at the next western….

Never found it to be particularly tough on tyres, think Ive had 1 puncture on course in the time ive been going…. Ive ridden all kinds of bikes there too. My recommendations based on the last few years have been Race king rear with an X-king front….
