They both have their merits. Having been lurking here for about a month and finally signing up I’d say Fraser hit the nail on the head with the above post.

Differences -There was a thread a few days ago where Jedi was getting a bit of a ribbing from some (reasonably good) rider and a ‘big hitter’ (?) called for everyone to rally against him and get him banned; a classic reflection of this place from what I’ve gleaned so far. The Bikemagic lot would’ve simply hounded him until he didn’t return. There are less people so eager to report posts they disagree with over there, but as an ex-member once pointed out, it can get a bit Lord Of The Flies without an iron fist.

A second shout out for Waxoyl. Just squirt it as far inside the tubes as you can. The paint protects the outside, keep an eye on that for chips, scratches and flaking on a regular basis and touch up any damage quickly to stop the rust from getting too extensive.

The two quickies I like are a Rivita covered with peanut butter sandwiched between two slices of Marmite-covered crusty bread. The other is the same Rivita thing but replacing the Marmite with honey.

Okay, maybe it’s not that extreme here (yet!).

I’ve noticed the prevalence of this across many other forums of late. What’s causing it is anyone’s guess.

I reckon it’s a reflection of the zeitgeist (for want of a better word) in as much as we’ve had the Age of Analysis and what not and, due to recentish developments such as life coaches or gurus or whatever you want to call them and various other self-development programmes etc, we’re now witnessing the inevitable emergence of the over-confident. This is the Age of Self Confidence IMO and the internet is merely reflecting the over-plus of the many who foolishly believe they are correct in every situation they find themselves in. Whether or not they truly have such self-belief or whether it’s merely bravado is another matter entirely.

I’ve always found this site useful for determining how much coffee to consume before I go riding.

Having had a similar experience some years back I can sympathise with you, it’s not a nice experience. As others have written, the police won’t do much because quite simply there’s no proof.

I was lucky enough to bump into my aggressor in a petrol station forecourt. As I was in my ‘civvies’ I had no choice but to give him the benefit of the doubt when he denied all knowledge of the incident although the change of colour to his face told me otherwise. I was quite content at his cowardice rising to the surface without his protective suit and would like to believe the experience put him off doing it again but I have been known to be a bit of a dreamer.
