adapt to one’s environment [rather] than go on a crusade to change it.

I can’t believe I’m reading that, J, TBH. Have a little think about how you behaved some time ago on a different forum and then tell me that’s how you handle things.

Do as I say not as I do, eh…

Edit : Or maybe you’ve learnt from your mistakes.

Don’t mean to imply it’s universal, should have been clearer- just that out of the ones I know, there’s a lot that you’d think “Coke has made you into a bellend” when in fact, they were always bellends.

Exactly. Drugs exacerbate various psychological issues not create them.

MSP – I had a friend that claimed the same after tooting a few lines. He was sat on the edge of his seat, leg jogging up and down whilst tapping his palm on the edge of the sofa ranting:-

    “…I can’t feel a bloody thing. Let’s get outta here…!”

I doubt that with ‘good shit’ you’d have suffered the placebo effect.

and dont keep it sharp, it’ll be more prone to sticking when splitting kindling, and more likely to do damage if you catch your fingers.

I was just about to add this. Good advice…

CPC don’t appear to have the axe in stock anymore. The closest I could find is available at Screwfix…

    AXE

The handle should last quite some time.

The problem with the Estwing version is when the leather rings get wet the bonding agent gives up its grip for some reason, particularly when sweat is involved. I replaced mine with a rubberised handle axe with full tang from CPC if my memory serves and that’s lasted for about 9 years so far. Gets almost daily use for around four to five months of the year. The Estwing died after two years.

I don’t expect the management to be perfect, quite frankly I don’t care if they are.

The management were more like the bloody Men In Black last night; some very swift erasing of ‘the truth’. That’s actually a very disturbing trait. But it’s cool – TJ is like Mulder and Scully rolled into one and has captured it for all to peruse should they feel the need.

Amusing watching some members coming over quite self-important. I mean, do you (and you know who you are) really think that your opinion or ‘judgement’ of someone really matters to anyone but yourself. Get a grip and as some of the others have said, butt-out and mind your own business or give helpful replies instead of the self-sanctimonious crap you’re coming out with.

Hopefully this thread doesn’t descend into a hate fest for people to get all third party righteous and indignant over.

    Bit late…

Best I’ve used as far as mould resistance goes is Everbuild Forever White, but to be honest the best way to stop mould from appearing on any bathroom sealant is to add a fan if you haven’t already got one and wipe down the excess water after showering/bathing (a cheap, small micro fibre towel is best). Combine this with the sealant above and you should get away without mould for a fair few years.

Maybe a bit OTT but someone I know cleans the sealant lines with meths once a month and it still looks as good as the day it was fitted.

if there were more little cars like that on the roads

As the missus said last night, that’s the only time I’d even think of using something like that. Infact it’d have to be the majority of cars. Can’t see them being much cop in the winter months, though…

    I see.

Well, I tried wrapping one of the large melonin patches around the wound but not only was it too long for my short and fat fingers, it actually stopped me from putting the glove on at all…

As was pointed out earlier in the thread – too many folk believe that an argument can be won or lost. Don’t quite get that myself.

If you believe you’re a winner then you’ve already lost…uh…

If you re-read my post I used the term “graze-type” not graze. In my mind’s eye they had deeper wounds than a simple graze and as far as the bugs bit goes, that’s why I carry antiseptic treatment, too.

NB No Serious Hats were worn whilst writing the above…

A handful of those big 100mm x 100mm melonin patches (because most falls I’ve experienced have resulted in a graze-type wound about the size of a hand), micropore tape, antiseptic wipes and cream, codeine pills and a few plasters.

I glaze over Elf’s posts for the most part simply because they’re far too lengthy* for me to be bothered reading in their entirety. I noticed the usual arrogant twaddle in a quote and not from the original which says a lot about what he believes and what happens in reality.

*I learnt early that this is a trait – to bombard with so many words so as to ‘win’ through the inevitable boredom of the ‘opponent’. Laughable immaturity from someone that claims to be so smart.

Great comedy replies – superb, especially Nickf’s threesome of cats.

The whole live and let live thing is not the best approach even though it appeals to my humane side. Mice carry all manner of diseases such as salmonella which isn’t that good for us, as I’m sure most know.
