    It’s a curious thing; a forum. (This isn’t a criticism, just . . . a thought that I’ve been thinking)

There’s moments where we are at our most bombastic. Getting on with the Northern ‘cut or be cut’ style of banter.

And then there are tiny little moments of purity, such as this, whereby people are invited to offer just a little slither of their genuine selves.

    And many do.

I, for one, would like to ‘cheers’ that side of STW; it’s a community that has dragged me from the depths, brought me to the light and been no end of ridiculously detailed good advice.

Every now and then, there is an opportunity to present one’s self as vulnerable.

That’s ok. Respect it as it is provided. It’s that ‘soft love’ that makes STW totally special.

Smashes the window with the back of his head, so hopefully he got looked at.

I think he actually turns just before the impact (probably thinking WTF is that noise) and it’s his shoulder that takes the brunt of the force.

Very lucky bloke. Or already very pissed…

The little buggers are now invading the kitchen

I’m all for live and let live but that’s a step too far for me. I had this on Friday when I returned home. I had no problem locating their entrance but there was no way I could’ve filled it with anything. So, in a rather gruesome and brutal fashion, I set about killing every single one with my finger tip and leaving the smeared remains all along the trail/procession route. I must’ve killed around 60 ants in total before they got the message and turned back in what looked like a state of panic.

It’s nasty but needs must and it’ll save you having to use chemicals, something I tend to avoid if possible.

From their own site linked above:

    Oilguard

The unique optical detection system prevents engine damage caused by wrong fuel-oil mix or oil type.

You can use standard two-stroke oil by deactivating the OilGuard function, simply pull out the OilGuard button by the rear handle.

Probably referring to that 2 stroke Husky Snake Oil…

My Merrel Moab Ventilators are proving to be indestructible after a lot of heavy use. Quite cool in use even though they appear to have no more than average ventilation.

Cheap if you search about a bit.

do you have to explain your decision so fully when you e-mail me

Well, ain’t you the lucky one. I just get a curt explanation.

Post of the thread is that Alain Delon gif. So far…

You appear to have a weird, out of focus blob on your shoulder. At first I thought it might be that thing on Trump’s head but it’s the wrong colour.

Aside from that – keep at it. Slow and methodical yields results…

    CPR bump…

I tried various ways and the one I quoted is most definitely easiest. Personal taste aside, the best base is by far this…

simondbarnes » Toast? Surely it has to be steak

I’m a fan of Marmite and was eager to try Grum’s suggestion but that is just awful. I mean really **** awful. Jarring, even.

The most surprising complimentary taste combo was a total accident – dried dates. Don’t ask my how or why, it just happened and it has to be tried before being dismissed.

My apologies for the revival if, like me, you’ve eaten far too many eggs off the back of this thread and are sick to death of them.

Heh. They’ve obviously mistaken your wall for a tree. Did you get it sorted?

Here’s the garden variety nesting for the third year before a year’s break after a badger decimated the previous colony. I see this first thing everyday as it’s right outside my ‘kitchen’ window…

I bought myself a Bosch blue GKS 65 GCE. The thing has a nice solid base and the ability to run along their rail system. Grabbed a few lengths of 1.6m rail as well as an 80cm run and can now cut just about anything with accuracy. Even do plunge cuts.

Cost a little bit more than I really wanted to pay but worth it in the long run. Much better than the cheaper Bosch green model I used before.

Weird one for me – sometimes call them scone, other times scone. Have no idea why. And if the word for them comes from the Dutch word surely the Dutch can claim them…?

Assembled as it comes to hand – it’s all gonna get mashed up in the mouth anyway.

Funniest post on the thread is the one where we’re led to believe Flashheart is wise. Unless Cougar is referring to a real wise man, of course…

Edit : It might take them a while to find the entrance so a few could wander in before doing so. From experience they appear to have navigation issues for a few hours if the ground or area around the entrance gets disturbed.

But I’m not certain which species.

They generally have very limited numbers in the hive and are quite reluctant to use their sting. It’s worth searching for images of the contents if for nothing more than idle curiosity.

    Here’s one…

note that bumblebees can sting and are more likely to do so if their nest is disturbed. If you decide to move a nest, it is done at your own risk.

And another shout out for the person centred therapy; it’s a little more fluid than CBT, which incidentally was once referred to as rational emotive behavioural therapy, which I think gives a little insight in to how it works.

As an aside, my nephew once called Isto’s suggestion thermo-dynamic therapy. Also claimed cancer can be malevolent or benevolent. He used to get a little confused with words… 🙂

I love Studland and Swanage – grew up kicking about on those shores and beachfront arcades, crab fishing off the harbour wall whilst eating fish and chips with bloodwormy hands.

Love clotted cream and unpasturaised milk, too.

Some time ago a friend was comparing this forum with other fora in general and noted that on this forum most just make statements without any interaction from others. Just a small handful respond and include others of their…well, I don’t really know what you’d call it – a clique is as good a word as any, I guess. The sad bit is when newbs and long-term lurkers alike aspire to be part of that elite and become something they’re not just to get some response or adulation from the Good Guys.

Anything not be the hoi polloi…
