Check the tyre pressure and make sure it’s below the manufacturers recommended max.

I’m looking at the Maxxis price list and the DHR II 29 x 2.4 WT DD is only available in Maxx Grip, not Maxx Terra.

However they do offer the 29 x 2.3 DD in Maxx Terra if that helps? Product code TB85927400

New Assegai and Dissector DDs are all Maxx Grip too.

The Aggressor comes in a 29 x 2.50 WT DD with dual compound or the High Roller II 29 x 2.50 WT DD is available in Maxx Terra.

    Hope this helps.

Got a 118d M sport, won’t be getting another one.

Golf or A3 is a much better option (had all 3 at some point) although the extra space in an Octavia estate would be my preference.

    It’s a 53 but comes up big. The missus is 5ft 9. Mine is a 56 and I’m 6ft 1.

I’m near to Milton Keynes. I can send you some photos if you like. She only dropped the bombshell yesterday so I’ve not had a chance to do anything with it yet.

It’s no carbon road bike but handles most things pretty well and has plenty of room for mudguards etc.

I’m just about to list a Niner RLT9 in the classifieds. its as good as new, only done about 15 miles as the missus hates riding on roads.

105 build with R685 hydros (the good looking ones), carbon bars and post. Looking for a £1000.

I’ve also got an RLT9 and done everything from the Tour of Flanders sportive to trail centres on it.

Bike prices are only going to go up, your mortgage might even go down. Your 2K isn’t getting you any interest in the bank so you might as well enjoy it.

    YOLO and all that.

Where I live its a definite “yes”. I see an accident on the way to work most days, usually either shunts due to dickheads looking down at their phones or pricks who can’t follow lines and arrows around a roundabout.

I’ve started to look into getting a dash cam as I fear I’ll need it soon.

In Homebase, from the next aisle where a little kid is doing a bit of whinging:

“Will you shut up, you’re pissing me off.” “And now you’ve made me bloody swear. I didn’t mean to but you’re pissing me off.”

All said sounding very much like a cockney Joe Pasquale.

The 1/2 pushed in pin is for OEMs to fit with an airgun in the factory and aren’t designed for use with a chain tool. If you try to fit it with a chain tool there’s a real chance, especially with 11 speed, that you could damage the link.

Best to get the proper pin to be on the safe side.

Used to have 3 and mash them up. Now I have two and chop them up.

Sadly I’m not 1/3 lighter, or mashed up.

Surely everyone on the e-bike category will have the same time/ speed of 16mph?

    They’re all winners…

I’m 6ft 1 and ride an XL Nomad with a 50mm stem. Before that I had an XL Solo with a 70mm stem.

I’d say the XL is only just big enough for me although the new Bronson and Solo look better.

Love mine. Rode it during winter as a cross bike with 35c tyres and then put 28c road tyres on it a few weeks ago for the Tour of Flanders sportive. Now that’s done it’s about to get 40c ‘gravel’ tyres for the summer.

It handles a bit slowly for a road bike but is impressive off road and seems to take everything in its stride.

If you’re interested I’m about to sell a rear 142 x 12mm one. Its unused. I bought it as a spare for an Alps road trip back in the summer.

I’ve used the similar XTR Trail wheels for the past 4 years including annual trips to the Alps on a 6 inch travel bike and they’ve been fine.

Just about to sell my XL Santa Cruz 5010C if you’re interested?

Either as a frame of a complete bike or frame with a few bits.

Let me know if you’re interested and I’ll send you some details.

I did 18 on my 18th birthday (1996) and I’m sure they were bigger ‘back in the day’.

I remember feeling pretty ill for most of that afternoon’s economics lesson though.

Costco MK, about £14 a pack with VAT if I remember rightly. I did my garage and shed with 3 packs.

I’ll have a set for sale if you’re interested? Just about to go 650b. One is 2.25 and the other is 2.1 but both are of a good width.

Great tyres btw, great for loose conditions.

As amusing as all of this is, what I would like to know is if bikeind’s colleague has ever made it back from his travels to Japan and can tell us all about it?

Or did he just wake up with his head in his cornflakes?

In a word, no. I-spec B type brakes have to be used with B type shifters.

    They aren’t cross compatible.

Rode the WHW a couple of years ago, starting in Fort William. Stayed overnight in Tyndrum and set off at about 9:00am the following morning. Including stopping for food, taking photos etc. it took about 10 hours to get to Milngavie.

Got a commuter on my iPhone 5. It cracked at the bottom while taking it out of my pocket. The rubber cover for the port isn’t a great fit either.

However it has taken a few knocks and been dropped a few times.

I would say it’s a bit of a compromise. If you’re heavy handed then get a Defender,if not it might be OK for you.

The Trail double 38/26 uses the same cranks (M980) as the triple version. However all the other doubles are different.

For what you want the Trail double sounds like the ticket. If you’re interested I also just happen to have a set of new 175s for sale!

    Cheers

Didn’t get my Marin Team Issue until 1994, I was a bit behind the times.
